Meowy Christmas Shaker Card

Meowy Christmas Shaker Card Stamperia Make a Wish Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

Meowy Christmas Shaker Card

Hello, Friends!  This whimsical little Meowy Christmas Shaker Card features Stamperia’s Make a Wish Paper Collection and some lovely goodies from Reneabouquets. I made it for our sweet next door neighbors who are cat parents.  Their kitties are featured regularly on Instagram, so I thought they should be represented on their Christmas card this year.

This is a pretty basic 5″ x 7″ top fold card with a kraft cardstock base.  Machine stitch around the maid paper panel.  Add a decorative stitch on the border accent and you are half way home.  Back a Reneabouquets Holly Berry Wreath with clear cardstock and foam tape, fill it with a mix of buttons, beads and sequins and that job is done, too. Die cut the cant directly from the paper pad using a circle die.  Then center it and adhere on the back of the wreath.

Heat emboss the chipboard sentiment with Antique Gold Embossing Enamel.  Then adhere it in the center of a really big Prima blossom.  Tuck in a pretty organza bow, some Christmas Greenery and holly leaves.  The vintage wooden candy cane came from a booth at a local flea market.  I wish I had a hundred of these sweet embellishments but, alas, this was the very last one in my stash.

A Peek Inside

Finish the card with a designer paper panel and a pocket, of course!

Then tuck in a couple of chocolate snowmen and a little note card.  There’s something joyous about these vibrant, non-traditional papers that speaks to my love of color, pattern and design.  And above all, it was fun to make!

Right now I’m working on the next Button Farm Club Card Kit, which will be released next week.  So if I’m a little bit absent, you will know it is because I am busy at my work desk, editing photos, making video tutorials and writing out directions for that project.  I can’t wait to show you what I’m up to!

Friday is the date for the very last Heartfelt Creations Alumni Hop of 2020!  And after that I will be doing a year-end round up of my favorite projects from 2020.  This tough old year is waning, and a bright New Year is on the horizon.  That is something to celebrate!

Thanks for stopping by!

Snowy Christmas Village Folio

Stamperia Make a Wish Four Fold Folio by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Photo 01
Stamperia Make a Wish:  Snowy Christmas Village Folio with Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Let’s go to Italy and window shop through this Snowy Christmas Village Folio.  Snow glistens on the quaint rooftops, sparkling snowflakes drift lazily through the air, and all around us we can hear the soft echo of bells ringing in the crisp darkness.  We can grab an espresso to keep warm and peek in all the windows to see the Christmas decorations there.  Care to join me?

This little folio was a grand experiment with Stamperia’s vibrantly joyous Make a Wish collection.  The folio has 4 folds, lots of little hidden treats and bountiful Christmas cheer.  Like all experiments, I learned some things, made new discoveries, and found things I will change next time.  But mostly, I love the Old World charm this 5″ x 7″ folio exudes.

Snowy Christmas Village Folio: Puttin’ on the Glitz

The right ribbon makes all the difference in a Christmas project.  And I find you just can’t go wrong when you combine Red Glitz Ribbon with Iridescent Metallic String.  This combo adds all the shimmer and shine we crave during the holiday season.

TIP:  Add glitter to rooftops to make them look all sparkly and snowy.  Tap on Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive with a makeup sponge.  Then add Rajni Chawla’s Crystal Clear for just the right amount of shine.

I’ve also used 1.5″ Royal Blue Gingham for the ribbon closure.  This ties in perfectly with the reds and blues in this collection.

Snowy Christmas Village Folio: Christmas Baubles

Wrap the spine of this album with Iridescent Metallic String, then tie assorted Christmas charms and silver jingle bells onto the ends of the bow.  These look and sound so pretty as the folio opens and closes.

TIP: Add a dab of Dries Clear Adhesive to the knot in the bow and on the charms to keep everything secure.  You don’t notice it once it’s dry, and you won’t have to worry about that perfect bow coming undone or charms falling off.

Snowy Christmas Village Folio: The Video Tour

I got a little carried away with the interactive features in this four fold folio.  So I should have anticipated that and scored the spines at 1″ instead of 1/2″.  It’s like the folio had one too many Christmas cookies and the waistband is uncomfortably tight.  But it is still beautiful, and I will do better next time, right?  But the surprises tucked into this folio are extra fun!  Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

So there’s a peek at what I’ve been working on.  How do you feel about this vibrant collection?  It’s so different from anything else out there, I just had to take it for a spin.  I hope I shared some tips, tricks and ideas that you can use in your own crafty adventures!  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Starry Night Box Folio Video Tour with Stamperia Make a Wish

Hello, Friends!  This Starry Night Box Folio tells a story on every page. A sleepy snow covered village nestles sweetly beneath a star filled winter sky. Angels and a crescent moon keep watch as Father Christmas slips silently into town to make Christmas magic…

You’ll find all kinds of sweet surprises tucked inside to delight the senses. There are pull out pages, magical growing Christmas trees, a lace angel ornament, Christmas chocolates, Christmas tea, a honey stick, a mini candy cane, a real silver spoon imported from India…it’s like digging into your stocking on Christmas morning.

Starry Night Box Folio: The Details

Sometimes my best projects happen when I’m too lazy to put away scraps.  The base for this box style folio is an off cut from a larger (soon to be shared) project. The unique box folio is my own design. It measures 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ with 1″ spines. The clever design allows it to stand upright on its own for display on your holiday mantel or tabletop.

The silver foil stars and glitter on the rooftops catch the light and twinkle …it’s just so charming!

There’s room Inside to write personal messages, add photos and even tuck in a gift card..  I came up with some really fun interactive pages, too.  If you’d like to see them, enjoy this short video tour where I will show you all the secrets that Father Christmas has in store for this sleepy little village. (You’ll also get to hear my clever husband playing guitar in the background as an added bonus!)
