Stamperia Wonderland Twist and Pop Card Tutorial
Hello, Friends! Boy oh boy….is December a busy month or what? In addition to Christmas, I have 2 family birthdays and a dance recital for the Littles on the list. I made this Stamperia Wonderland Twist and Pop Card Tutorial with our younger daughter in mind. (Her birthday was on Tuesday.)
This daughter is a minimalist. So every year I try to make a clean and simple card for her. It’s usually the hardest card I make all year! But she loves dragonflies, so I thought perhaps this simple card made with Stamperia Wonderland would fit the bill.
This is a 5″ x 5 1/2″ card base with a twist and pop mechanism on the inside. I did dress the card up with a little silver metallic string and a dragonfly charm. The minimalist flower cluster is made with Tim Holt’s Skeleton Leaves Thinlits, silver metallic string and a Little Birdie Moonlight Renae flower.
Although it’s difficult to see in the photo, I treated the dragonfly wings with Seth Apter Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture. I also sprinkled in a few grains of Ancient Amber to add that wonderful iridescent quality that real dragonfly wings have. It’s very pretty in real life.
Stamperia Wonderland Twist and Pop Card Tutorial: A Peek Inside
The inside of this card has a really fun twist and pop mechanism. (Tutorial below) I die cut Tammy Tutterow mini envelopes from cream paper, then decorated them with scraps from the wonderland collection. We’ll put a little gift card or cash gift in each envelope to make the card even more fun.
I stamped some sentiments and added them to the card base and the envelopes. But really, this is a super simple card.
Here’s a side view of the mechanism that you can refer to when you make your own version.
Stamperia Wonderland Twist and Pop Card Tutorial 2.0 on You Tube
I did a tutorial for this twist and pop card on the blog quite a while ago. You can find that original tutorial HERE. I did some paper engineering to change up the original twist and pop mechanism design, and it works great. But some of my followers were still struggling with making the mechanism. So I went back to the drawing board and simplified it even more. You’ll find those changes in this very short YouTube video tutorial.
I hope this helps you to master this fun interactive card design. If you view the video, please take a moment and leave me a comment on my Youtube channel. And if you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet, I’d love to have you join me on your crafting journey.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
