G45 Night Before Christmas Boxed Mini Album Tutorial for Throwback Thursday
Hello, Friends! Go grab a cuppa and a snack, because this G45 Night Before Christmas Boxed Mini Album Tutorial is going to take a minute or two of your day. But it’s such a great project that I think you won’t mind spending a little extra time with me for today’s Throwback Thursday.
I recently cleaned out our tiny linen closet so I could organize all my “off the page” boxes, albums, frames, etc. in a way that would allow me to see them and use them. It was an all-afternoon task, but along the way I found some great items that I’d forgotten all about. One of those items was this great G45 Square Box.
When it comes to crafty adventures, making a decorative box is pretty high on my list of favorite things to do! There’s something special about a pretty little box standing up on ornate metal feet.
Add a shaker box to the lid, and you’ve got some Christmas home décor that you’ll be proud to display! This Reneabouquets First Snow Shaker Box Kit adds the “Merry” to our Christmas box. The delicate snowflake bits come with the kit. I’ve embossed all the pieces with WOW Vintage Champagne Embossing Powder. The scalloped chipboard frame is painted with Barn Red Distress Paint.
What’s in the Box?
If you’re gonna make a box, you really should put something inside it. I used the cardstock coasters that come with the G45 box to make a mini album. And I will show you how easy it is to do this in the video tutorial below.
Of course, a candy cane is a nice surprise, too!
Night Before Christmas Mini Album
Keep everything neat and tidy with a St. Nick belly band closure.
Since the front of the album has to be kept flat, add visual interest with a contrasting spine.
A Peek Inside
The inner pages are all interactive with flips, flaps, different kinds of pockets and pull-outs. There’s loads of room for photos and journaling as you will see in the video tutorial below.

Wouldn’t this make a great Christmas present? It would also be a really fun project to make with children or grandchildren during the Thanksgiving break. If you don’t feel inclined to make one yourself, you can purchase this one from my ETSY shop.
Although I was not able to find any of the square Graphic 45 Mixed Media Boxes online, you might try a search on Etsy or eBay. You might find one there.
For a real Throwback Thursday treat, check out this Night Before Christmas Box that I made back in 2015!
I’ll provide a linked supply list below.
Thanks for stopping by!
