You, Me & Coffee Hidden Tag All Occasion Card for RRR June Blog Hop
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Are you ready to hop? You should be coming here from Karen’s lovely blog where I’m sure you were inspired by her fabulous use of ribbons. I’ve prepared a bright and cheery You, Me & Coffee Hidden Tag All Occasion Card using the Ocean Breeze Ribbon Club Assortment. I’m telling you peeps, these ribbons are fabulous!
Grab a Cuppa
The ocean blues from this collection called to me, but they didn’t make me think only of the ocean. They reminded me of these cute Coffee Break Papers (retired) that I’ve had in my stash for a while. Tropic Double Faced Satin and Tropic Fancy Shell Print Ribbon provided just the right shade of blue for this fun card.
Layering these two ribbons along the bottom edge of the card creates a beautiful border. I’m a huge fan of double faced satin ribbon as it ties gorgeous bows and it easy to work with. Ribbon adds texture, color, pattern and shine to this card design.
How to Make a Hidden Tag All Occasion Card
It’s easy to create a hidden tag pocket on your card front. Here’s how I made mine.
- First double mat the card focal on cardstock that goes with your collection.
- Next, glue just the top and bottom edges to the card. Or, you can use 1/8″ Scor-Tape. The idea here is to use just a very thin line of adhesive so that you will have room to slip a tag in.
- Now, measure the height of the opening and cut a rectangle of cardstock that is slightly smaller.
- Then, round the bottom edges of the rectangle.
- Next, use a corner punch to shape the top edge of the rectangle.
Finally, decorate the tag and slip into place. I used more of the fancy shell print ribbon on top of my tag, and I love the way it peeks out from the pocket.
A Peek inside
Nothing goes better with coffee than chocolate, so I created a small chocolate pocket inside the card.
Then I added another cute tag to the pocket. These little tags make great book marks, and they are cute hanging on a bulletin board or office cubby, too.

That is more than just a card, its a real treat! I love the little pockets inside and the way you have layered the front with all the pretty flowers and leaves. They go so well with that ribbon. I have a friend who could use a little cheering up. I think I will have to see what I can come up with following your inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
Cute cute cute. I do love those little chocolates too. Just enough to satisfy 🙂 well, maybe not, but it should be. lol. Love all the colours and the choice in papers! Typewriters, I remember those!! 🙂
This set of June ribbons is so lovely. . .they shout “summer”. Kathy, this card is great for anytime–especially a summer coffee break. I can envision the focal image on the front (typewriter) varying according to the receiver and a coffee gift card tucked into an inside pocket. . .along with the chocolate, of course! Never skip chocolate. Thanks for sharing this great idea.
Gorgeous as always!
