Sweet Chips: Crafty Secrets Apron Card
Hello, Friends!
I love vintage aprons. Remember those cute 1960’s aprons with the ruffled edges and cute little pocket? My mom always wore one to cover up her dresses as she worked. My Grammy Ma always wore a cobbler’s style calico apron as she cooked. I try to remember to wear one when I am working in the kitchen, too. And, as you might be guessing by now, today’s project features a Crafty Secrets apron card made with the Sweet Chips Little Girl Outfit.
I absolutely love these darling kits from Crafty Secrets. They can be used in so many different ways. I simply made this one into a card that would be the perfect gift for a bridal shower, hostess gift or housewarming.
The chipboard apron is joined at the shoulders and pre-creased for easy folding. I just traced the pinafore portion of the card onto the black and white check paper from our Creating with Digital Halloween CD. The paper used on the red pockets and card base are from the Creating with Retro Christmas CD. It’s good to remember that these “seasonal” or themed CD’s are loaded with papers that you can use year round, making them a really good investment.
I just added some Elise Crochet Lace to the tops of the pockets and on the sleeves. Then I trimmed the apron front with this kitschy Cherries on Black Grosgrain Ribbon. It looks great with the little cherry button I found in my stash.
The inside of the card is also quick and easy to decorate. On the top of the card, I used the French Hens paper from Creating with Vintage Illustrations. I added two quick and easy “beat the heat” summer recipes to mini file folders that were decorated with What’s Cooking Heartwarming Vintage Stickers.
This cute image is from the Farm Fresh Creative Scraps . It just works so well with this card.
I’ve strung these little aprons together to make cute banners. I’ve put calendars on the inside and given them as holiday Secret Santa gifts. Create them in soft pastel colors, and they make great baby cards. I think they would be darling as ornaments on a kitchen themed Christmas tree. And here is the best part…they are on SALE for a fraction of the original price. So are the stickers and the Creative Scraps.
I hope this post whetted your creative appetite and that you’ll soon be cooking up a storm of cute Crafty Secrets Apron Cards!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,

This card is available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.
I adore vintage aprons, and your card is so reminiscent of those my Grandma used to wear; I don’t remember her too much without her aprons on! I found a cute one at a yardsale; it’s hung in the pantry for quite some time; I usually “dress” for cooking when I’m serious about it, because I hate to get my apron dirty! Ha! Ha!
I love that you have included two recipes in the card…one of those special Kathy touches! And that Country Girls sentiment just really tugs at my heart. Sweet card, as usual, Kathy! Hugs!
Just too darn cute for words! Growing up, all the women in my family wore aprons. This brought back great memories, Kathy. Thanks!

Hi Kathy, first off, I am here, this morning, I couldn’t open your site at all. glad it is fixed? I love your apron, I like to wear one when I cook and craft, really saves the clothes. I can’t count the times I spilled or dropped things on aprons. made very cheaply, and very useful. thanks for the apron card…..love it.
I do love anything vintage. I love aprons but oddly enough, don’t own one! Love the card.
