Crafty Secrets Thanksgiving Pumpkins
Hello, Friends!
I love pumpkins! This time of year, you can find pumpkin patches on just about every corner. The beautiful colors just say “fall” to me! I love to visit the State Farmer’s Market where they have all the prize winning pumpkins on display. Take a look at these beauties!
If you look closely, you’ll see that this one weight 522.8 pounds! Now that is a LOT of pumpkin pie right there! But these gorgeous pumpkins are not exactly what you would call “petite.”
Aren’t they gorgeous? What would autumn…and Thanksgiving be without pumpkins? Pumpkin pie is always on the menu at our Thanksgiving feast, and this year, I really want to try my hand at making pumpkin butter. Yum! So this sweet vintage pumpkin image from Crafty Secrets makes me think of Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday of the year.
The image is from the Heartwarming Vintage Seasonal Image and Journal Notes booklet. My papers are from Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD2 and I customized the colors with the color changer tool in PaintShop Pro. I added stitching, distressing and inking to give the finished card a great vintage feel. The bow was made with 1/2″ brown wrinkled ribbon. I used this same ribbon to form a border that I topped with my favorite Autumn Diamond Print Grosgrain Ribbon. I inked up some felt leaves and added a pretty brad to complete the front of the card.
I computer journaled my greeting onto cream cardstock and used the same papers from the front of the card on the inside. The turkey tag is from Autumn Blessings Vintage Cuts.
I had enough paper left over to make a custom envelope, too.
Be sure to check out the amazing sales Sandy has in the online store. Both the Seasonal journal booklet and the Autumn Blessings Vintage cuts are on sale for 1/2 price. Don’t miss out on the amazing Halloween and Fall Sale Kit, available while supplies last.

Those pumpkins are awesome! LOVE your sweet card too! An old fashioned Thanksgiving…I can smell the pie!
Breath-takingly pretty! I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us Kathy – and the pumpkins! They’re a fair bit larger than the little mini ones I managed to grow one year!.
Hi Kath Happy Thanksgiving to you and all celebrating this time. Love the pumpkins and your card is so pretty x
A great vintage card with the muted colors & distressed edges. The leaves are a wonderful element in your design – the beautiful vibrant orange mimic the colors in the pumpkin. Nice design!

PS: I forgot to mention, I love your card. so sweet. ….Hugs and blessings
Hi Kathy, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays as well. I remember in school we used to sing Thanksgiving songs, and have an assembly reminding us to be thankful. It’s more than the turkey. I love pumpkin soup, muffins, bread, cookies. think what you could make with that big one. We have sweet potato pie instead of pumpkin. for our dinner. It’s a glorious day to celebrate with worship and family. Wish we could see more things for Thanksgiving besides, food.
Beautiful card, Sis – you just keep creating such lovely things!
The pumpkin pic is almost surreal. Beautiful card, Kathy! Helene
I love the warm feeling of your card. I can almost feel the crisp nip in the air as these children roll their pumpkin home. So much attention to detail my friend!
