Crafty Secrets Vintage Santa Cards

CS Digi Santa 03NEW Crafty Secrets Vintage Santa Cards

Hello, Friends!  I’m very excited to be sharing a couple of Christmas cards made with  the new Crafty Secrets Vintage Santa Digital Stamp Set.  This is a big set…30 images!  All beautifully vintage and very easy to make up into pretty Christmas cards. You’re going to love them!

Crafty Secrets Santa Digi 01For this first card, I changed the color on the digital stamp from black to sepia using the color changer tool in PaintShop Pro.  Then, I changed the background color to this pretty vintage green.

Crafty Secrets Santa Digi 02I layered on the vintage Santa collage paper from Creating with Vintage Christmas CD #6 and added some fun embellies, some stitching and distressing.  I love how antique this card looks.

Crafty Secrets Santa Digi 03My pretty bow is made with Vintage Christmas Plaid Ribbon and Gold Metallic String, both from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Crafty Secrets Santa Digi 04This sentiment is in the set, and I just love it!  The other elements are printed from the CD.

CS Digi Santa 01I have a “thing” for Christmas stockings, probably because my mom made all of ours when we were kids, and they were so beautiful.  She also made them for our kids when they were little.  So this scene from the set called my name for sure!

CS Digi Santa 02 I cut out the image with a Spellbinder die, but cut around the stockings so that they could hang outside the frame.  They were colored with watercolor pencils and then treated to some Diamond stickles.

CS Digi Santa 03The background “paper” is actually washi tape that I’ve had in my stash for some time.  I’ve never used it like this on a card before, but it was so fast and easy, I’m sure you’ll be seeing me use this idea again soon!  More of the same pretty ribbons…because they just match this set so well.

CS Digi Santa 04Another snippet from the Vintage Christmas CD and a handwritten sentiment finish off the inside.  Simple, rustic and homey….just the way I like it!

[playing catch-up because I’ve been poorly] … I LOVE these Christmas cards Kathy. They’re so SO pretty. I think I’d never take them down if they were sent to me. I’ve tried to choose a favourite, but couldn’t. I’ve got it down to two (with difficulty) but I just can’t get it down to one. So .. my two favourites are: the first one in the post (with the green buttons and sentiment) and the Christmas Stockings card. Both are totally adorable and I think that if those came to me, I’d frame them as works of art rather than treat them as mere cards. They’re way too arty to be anything other than framed works of heART.

    Sending love ~ Cobs. x

Hi, Kathy! You’ve done it again…..absolutely amazing. I love Crafty Secrets images, and you do such a lovely job with them. You’re a perfect fit for their lovely DT. In fact, Sandy is SUCH a blessing to me, and a super sweet soul. She will be sponsoring us again in 2015 at Word Art Wednesday, and I’m delighted and honored to have her support. I LOVE working with her sweet images. You have ROCKED this, my friend.
    Have a blessed week!

Love your vintage Christmas cards! The Santa one is so sweet and I have a thing for stockings also. My mom made us felt and sequin stockings when we were little. I made one for Rick when we got married and also for each of our children when they were born. Mom used to hang the whole family’s stockings up in here house. I think I have a photo somewhere. I’ll try to find it and share with you. After awhile, Mom said that it was getting to be too much to have all the stockings at her house, so she sent them home with the different children. We hung those stockings for many years in our home. Then one year when I got them out of storage, a mouse (or two) had eaten off the little bits of chocolate and had made a home of the stockings!!! Luckily the mice were no longer in the box, but I cried for the loss of those stockings with so many memories. That year we hung up paper bags from Hallmark that were shaped like stockings because I couldn’t imagine what kind of stockings I could hang that could replace our old ones. The next year Mom presented all four of us with beautiful cross-stitched stockings! We hang them up every year…so you can see that stockings have a very dear spot in my heart!
Always love your creations, dear Kathy!

I like how, in your first card, the Santa image is part of the background which adds to the interest and layering of this gorgeous card. Love the glitter and glam of your stockings hanging on the fireplace–lovely 3-D effect.

Each one of these cards is FABULOUS! Of course I love of the vintage sweetness and your style of collage is PERFECT! Thanks for such wonderful inspiration … now if I could just talk my mojo into coming back home I can get started on the holiday cards I need for my family & friends! LOL!
Nope … no rest for me over the weekend … don’t think that’s going to happen until 2015! LOL Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours! ENJOY and make beautiful memories!
