Dear Old Dad Father’s Day Gift Wallet with Authentique “Dapper” Collection
Hello, Friends! It’s always hard to know what to get Dad for Father’s Day…or birthday…or Christmas for that matter! But today I have a project that I think every dad will absolutely love. I’ve created this Dear Old Dad Father’s Day Gift Wallet using Authentique’s “Dapper” collection. The images, patterns and colors are perfectly retro, wonderfully whimsical and fabulously fun.
See what I mean about these papers? They just capture that retro vibe so well! If your Dad loves puzzles, then he’ll love the design of this album. Although it only measures 4″ x 4″ x 1/2″, it opens up to 12″ wide x 15″ long. Filled with interactive elements like pockets, tags, fold outs and flip pages, the design meshes perfectly with the playful feel of these fun papers.
I created a belly band with ribbon and a large vintage button from my stash to decorate the top of the album. The button echoes the design of the LP album in the focal image, which makes me very happy indeed.
Dear Old Dad Father’s Day Gift Wallet Details
I used a Velcro closure instead of magnets as the paper is thick and I was afraid a magnet would not close.
Don’t you just love these images and the sassy captions?
Unfolding the gift wallet is an adventure all on its own.
Each of these decorative panels flips open to reveal photo mounts or hidden journaling spots.
And it just keeps on opening! I added pockets to the center panel so that gift cards, photos, tickets, chocolates or other small gifts can be inserted.
These tiny tags fill the pockets, and I just loved how easy it was to pull them together using the stickers from the Dapper collection.
This is what the gift wallet looks like when it’s fully opened. To help you get a real feel for the flow of this project, I created a very short YouTube video tour.

Such a cool project. Love it!!
Kathy, what a great way to celebrate a “Father”. . .I know I’m going to be making this wallet for my brother-in-law who is such a great Dad. Just love the retro images and sentiments and I know he will, too. Now to order the kit. . . Thanks, as always.
Hi, always love what you do with paper..hugs
I just lost my long comment :(. Kathy, this is just a delightful project with a FUN design and those collaged panels are so amusing! Any Dad would love to receive this gift on his special day! And speaking of special, I love those little pockets and wee little tags! The first thing I noticed when your blog loaded was the button that looks like a miniature LP album, and then I spotted the paper with the LP! It figures we would both be delighted with these types of details! Great project, and as always, perfectly executed! Sending hugs!
Very cool! I love the vintage images and of course your design and layout just knock it out of the park!
