Draw Outside the Lines: Graphic 45 Typography and Mojo Monday 311
Oh, friends! I feel I must issue a disclaimer here. I am about to gush. Royally. About the Typography collection from Graphic 45. I ordered mine many weeks ago, and have been stalking my mail carrier er….patiently waiting for it to arrive. Well, it came late this week. And I was up to my eyeballs in work, so I knew I couldn’t open it, or everything would come to a grinding halt. But today is Saturday….glorious, free-play Saturday. It even says so on my assignment board. I was up at 6AM, and headed straight for the studio. It was like Christmas morning as I opened the package, and oh…be still my heart. Someone at Graphic 45 crawled into my head, captured my dreams, my favorite sayings, my most beloved colors and put them into this paper stack. After savoring each glorious page, running my hands over the images, reading all the quotes, getting up and doing a little happy dance, I settled down and made this Draw Outside the Lines card for Mojo Monday #110. Here’s the original sketch:
As you can see, I turned it on its side ….because after all, we are going to draw outside the lines here, and it seemed appropriate. That’s really all I have to say. Just want to share some photos of the finished product with you:
The little tags swivel out of the way so they’ll fit into the envelope.
Have I ever told you that when I was a kid, my favorite Christmas present every year was a brand new box of Crayola Crayons? The big box, with the sharpener on the side. And, this saying….for any of you who know me, suits me to a T. It is how I have lived my whole life. It is exhausting sometimes, but ultimately so much more rewarding. The best part is, you tend to meet really interesting people, who also have made the choice to draw outside the lines. (Oh, and just so you know….I don’t work for Graphic 45 or anything like that. I just fell in love with this paper because it is so essentially “me.” )
Thanks for taking the time to visit the blog today. So, what’s your style? Do you tend toward drawing inside the lines, or like me., do you live to draw outside the lines? I’d love to know! And thanks in advance for all your kind comments. I read and respond to each and every single one of them because hearing from you makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers. Until next time….
LOVE your fun card…I can think of so many of my friends this would be perfect for too…other ‘outside the lines’ compadres. I’m going to search out the collection right away. Love Graphic 45 and somehow missed this one. Thanks for sharing such a great card 🙂
This card speaks to me! Love the colors you used…happy! The two little tags are perfectly placed! Most excellent and love the meaning!
Kathy…this is such a neat use for the new Typography papers. Your card is wonderful! You post so many projects! Where on earth do you find the time…and all of them are so beautifully done. Your “on” switch must be be stuck! 🙂 <3 Candy
Totally adorable. Got my paper yesterday and have drooling over it. Funny you should ask, my whole life has been outside the lines, lol, so I have no problem going there!
Ooh, I love this! It’s so fun with the colored rhinestones and so you. Love that you turned the design on its side and that the tabs swivel to fit into the envelope. The older I get, the more I’m learning to draw outside the lines too.
