Farm Fresh Birthday Card

Crafty Secrets Farm Fresh Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!

I have a Farm Fresh birthday card to share with you today. It will make you think of fields of corn, freshly mowed hay and roadside fruit and veggie stands.  Just a few of  the things I love the most about summertime.

Down on the Farm Card 02This was such a fun card to make…and easy, too.  I used the French Hens paper from Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Typography CD as my background.  I stitched this in my signature “wonky stitching style” onto a black cardstock base.  This was glued onto a 5″ x 7″ side fold cardstock base.  The chicken wire paper (from the same CD) was cut into a fishtail banner shape and matted onto black cardstock.  Then I dug out my Farm Fresh Creative Scraps and went to town! The cute focal image was stitched onto squares of denim and red burlap.  I slipped the “country roads” sign beneath this focal image and cut out the tiny seed packets to use as a banner.

The sassy farm girl was fussy cut, inked and mounted behind the focal image.  I cut little slits so that I could sort of wrap her around. I did the same thing with the fresh peach image. It reminds me of a vintage roadside billboard.  Foam dots add lots of dimension and a cute little vintage clothespin adds to the country appeal of this kitschy card.  To pull it all together, I added a double bow.  The bottom layer is tied with 3/8″ red gingham and then topped with 1/4″ black gingham.  I found the cute corn button in my stash.  My daisies were inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to make them blend in .

Down on the Farm Card 03The inside of the card uses the same paper, along with a little scrap piece of red paper from the Creating with Retro Christmas CD.  I computer journaled the sentiment onto the frame from the Farm Chicks Digital Art Stamp set using a fun font.   Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

This card is available for purchase in my ETSY shop.

Hi Kathy! Your Crafty Secrets cards and projects are always SO sweet, and I enjoy seeing them. I made a sweet little CS card the other day, but I’m waiting to post it until the new challenge starts (August I’m guessing). I just adore the sweet images, and Sandy is such a sweet gal. You’ve just gotta love Crafty Secrets, Thanks for all the inspiration. I always love it.

I hope you will link up some of your sweet projects with us at Word Art Wednesday when you are able.

I love a farm theme, Kathy, and I love the extra sewing touches you’ve added to this to make it Kathy special! One of my favorite things about this adorable card is the chicken wire fishtail banner (and of course the stitches!) and the way you’ve posed that sassy farm girl. So many great details on this one card, I keep coming back for more looks! Fabulous birthday card, my friend! Hugs!

A very sweet card Kathy. I’m loving everything “farm” related right now. My daughter and niece both live in rural areas and while they are not technically farmers I prefer to think of them that way. haha Beside which, my niece has enough animals to qualify for a small petting zoo. The grandkids love going there.
