Favorite Projects of 2013
the year in review
Hello, Friends! I can’t believe we are already into the 2nd week of 2014. I have been doing some reflecting on the ups and downs of the past year. It’s been quite a journey….and I thought I’d ask you all to take a stroll down memory lane with me as I look back at my favorite projects of 2013.
January
This month marks the one year anniversary of the Kathy by Design webpage and blog. On the one hand, I can’t believe a year has already gone by…and on the other hand I feel as if I’ve been doing this forever! I have just had so much fun sharing my ideas, thoughts and projects with you here. You have been so gracious to comment, to visit, to encourage …and I’ve developed genuine friendships with some of you…so thank you for that!
Here’s a look back at the very first project I posted on January 14, 2013:
It was a blue and white card created with Graphic 45’s Place in Time collection.
February 2013
This swallowtail card was stamped on dictionary paper using Stampin’ Up’s gorgeous Swallowtail stamp.
March 2013
March was a very good month for me! I auditioned for the Heartfelt Creations design team. A few weeks later, I learned that I had been accepted …and a whole new adventure began for me.
April 2013
In April, I began to experiment with water coloring images. This is still one of my very favorite cards!
May 2014
In May, I created this sweet vintage card for Crafty Secrets.
June 2013
Steampunk Debutante papers from Graphic 45 and a lot of fussy cutting adorn this birthday card.
July 2013
I have to share two cards for July: first, this sophisticated Mr & Mrs wedding card made with Stampin’ Up supplies
and
This sweet Garden Girl card I created with Crafty Secrets digital stamps. Very soon after making this card, I was invited to join the Crafty Secrets design team….a real dream come true!
August
In August, I had fun playing with beach images from Crafty Secrets and some vintage jewelry.
September
I loved this little box made with Crafty Secrets papers and Dies from Heartfelt Creations.
October
This Crafty Secrets Halloween card still makes me smile!
November
I put in this Clean and Simple Stampin’ Up card because it has received the most views of any card I’ve posted….over 1700 views! I made this as for a guest designer gig on Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Chic blog.
But this mini album that I made for Heartfelt Creations is still my personal favorite!
December
I became a member of the Really Reasonable Ribbon design team in November, and this card that I created for them was my favorite card in the month of December.
So, that’s my list of Favorite Projects of 2013. Which one is your favorite? Or did I miss your favorite project entirely? It is such an honor and a joy to share my creations with you. I love hearing from you….it makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers. Here’s wishing you abundant mojo and joy in 2014!
How could you even choose? Everything you make is fabulous! I love that you can do so many genres! Gorgeous work in 2013! Look forward to 2014!
Kathy it is impossible to pick a favorite! They are all my favorites! Wow, what a year for you in the crafting world! I need to get busy and start applying for some of these teams! Good challenge for 2014! Thanks for all you do to inspire us!
I enjoyed looking through all your favorite projects of 2013. I just recently started following you through RRR and I love your design style. This review allowed me to see other styles you use. I really like your projects and I appreciate the time you take to respond back to me when I comment. I think that is very sweet of you. I hope over the over year I will create a deeper friendship with you. I’m retiring from teaching in May. I’ve taught for 38 years. I chose the word “journey” as my word of the year because one journey is coming to an end and another one is about to begin. I want to polish and enhance my skills as a paper crafter/artist and bloggers like you give me so much to think about, dream about, and be inspired. Thank you for all you do to help all of us who love to create with paper! Robin
You’re the one with all the mojo! Hope 2014 is as fun and exciting! Hugs
Gorgeous projects! I enjoyed the review!
Such a wonderful look back at some of your creations. One of the first things that attracted me to your work was your attention to detail. That has not changed. You still spend that extra bit of time to make sure everything just works together and you always present such lovely projects!
Kathy… All of your favorites are beautiful!! What gorgeous works of art ! Anyone would be so proud and excited to receive any of these as a card or gift. You always have such wonderful detail in all of your work. Here’s to a creative 2014. Candy
They’re all fabulous creations! My favorite is the last one using G45 Nutcracker Suite papers. It’s such a great line and I love how you showcased the image. Just beautiful!
I look for your entries every day and would be hard pressed to choose just one for each month. Your designs are such an inspiration and something I strive to achieve (although I always miss the mark!). So glad you are here to inspire us all.
Hi Kathy love them all, think my favourites are mini album and vintagex
All good choices! I love the steampunk deb one!
