G45 Time to Flourish October Banner of the Month with Reneabouquets
Hello, Friends! This week’s Throwback Thursday features our G45 Time to Flourish October Banner of the Month tutorial. October is one of my favorite months of the year. It’s bright blue skies, crisp air and cooler temperatures always make me feel alive again. Hard to believe that we are almost at October again, isn’t it?
Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board, Butterflies, glitter glass and chippies added so much to our banner design this month. Of course, we went with an orange and black color scheme. But we added in a healthy dose of deep purple to really make the project come alive with color.
Shaped Pennants
TIP: Mix and match pennant shapes and sizes to create visual interest. For this banner I’ve used G45 Black ATC tags, Regular Black Laser Cut Alpha Tags, and a stitched banner as the bases for our designs.
Because I was almost out of the October Time to Flourish papers, I had to innovate the design a bit. To save paper, I die cut liners from Blackberry Bliss cardstock. Then I cut rectangles of my designer paper ( scraps of Time to Flourish and Midnight Tales), stitched them onto the pennant bases and then onto my ribbon streamers.
Hauntingly Beautiful Butterflies
You don’t usually think of butterflies in connection with Halloween projects, but these Reneabouquets butterflies really made everything pop! And how cute is this little pumpkin gal with her kitty and broomstick?
TIP: Die cut stars from gold glitter cardstock to add sparkle and shine to each collage. Large stars serve as background pieces while smaller ones make great embellishments.
Pumpkin Patch
I had such fun creating these layered pumpkins! First, color the cardstock background with various colors of Distress Stain. Then color the chipboard overlay with a darker shade and adhere to the base. Next, spritz lightly with gold mica spray. Finally, add some Dries Clear Glitter Glue to the corners and sprinkle with Gold Glitter Glass. The end result is spook-tacular!
Whoo- whoo Goes There?
TIP: Prima Crystals make great eyes on this handsome beautiful board owl. He’s colored with Distress Stain, but you could also emboss him for an even more dramatic effect.
Itty Bitty Scarcrow
I’m such a fan of this sweet scarecrow. You saw a larger version on yesterday’s Not So Scary Scarecrow card. This itty bitty version is the perfect size for my miniature frame.
Instead of adding charms to my tags, I inserted these cute orange corduroy brads. I like the texture they add to the design, don’t you?
And here we are at the end of this long banner. It was lots of fun putting this one together. If you’d like to watch the process on my YouTube channel, please enjoy this video:
