All Geared Up Girly Grunge Tag
Heartfelt Creations Wednesday and Really Reasonable Ribbon Cross Promotional
Hello, Friends! Welcome to a special edition of Heartfelt Creations Wednesday and a Really Reasonable Ribbon “Anything Goes” Challenge. I’ve combined Heartfelt Creations fabulous new All Geared Up Collection with my “go to” cream seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon to make my All Geared Up Girly Grunge Tag. You’ll find a complete supply list and detailed tutorial at the end of this post, below the signature.
The texture you see on the tag was created by placing my dies on the back of my jumbo manila tag and my embossing mat on top of it. When you run it through your die cut machine, it impresses the die shapes into the tag without cutting it. Then I just layered on several mediums to create the wonderful color and shine you see here.
The shabby seam binding bow used about 2 yards of RRR cream seam binding. I smooshed Spun Sugar Distress Ink onto my non-stick craft sheet, spritzed it with water and then tapped/dragged/scrunched my ribbon through that glorious inky puddle to create this custom dyed seam binding. This was wrapped several times around the base of my tag, then I used my Zutter Bow-it-All to tie the bow on my Girly Grunge Tag. This is one of my favorite ribbon techniques.

Directions: Place the embossing pad onto the cutting mat of your Grand Calibur Machine. Place the jumbo tag on top of the embossing pad, and then arrange the gears from HCD 754 cutting side down on top of the tag. Run through the Grand Calibur to emboss the gear shapes into the tag. Repeat until you have an allover embossed pattern on the tag. Lightly rub the embossed side of the tag with Worn Lipstick Distress ink, then sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat emboss. Paint the tag with the Worn Lipstick Distress Stain and dry with a heat gun. Brush Picket Fence Distress Stain over the top, flick with water and then dry. Thoroughly cover the entire tag with Versamark Ink and cover with clear embossing powder. Heat to set the powder. Let it cool and repeat this step. This will give the tag a faux metal appearance. Brush the top of the tag with the Chandelier Glimmer Glam and let dry.
Die cut 3 sets of the gears from white cardstock, and two from pink cardstock. Die cut 2 leaves from green glitter cardstock. Shape and stack the gears. Add the silver buttons, sewing on with gold thread. Tap the center of each button with Antique Linen Distress Ink and set aside.
Paint the dress form with Antique Linen Distress Paint. Let it dry. Paint with Chandelier Glimmer Glam. When dry, add buttons as shown.
Smoosh a little Worn Lipstick Distress Ink onto a non-stick craft sheet. Spray Iridescent Gold mist into this area, and run 3 feet of seam binding through the puddle to create custom seam binding. Scrunch the ribbon as you are drying it with the heat gun. Wrap ribbon around the base of the tag, and then create a shabby bow to go on top.
Cut a journaling tag from the paper collection and ink the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. Glue onto the card, as shown. Cut the birthday tag from the collection and glue down as shown. Place the gear “doily” die under the hoop skirt of the dress form and glue down. Glue the dress form on top, as shown. Add the flowers, pearls and filled silver frame. Top the tag with more of the custom dyed seam binding.
