Graphic 45 Flower Market Folio Tutorial: First in our 2023 Calendar Folio Series

Hello, Friends!  It’s Make & Take Tuesday and time to share this Graphic 45 Flower Market Folio Tutorial with you.  This is going to be our Calendar Folio series for 2023!  Each month, I’ll share a fresh tutorial using these lovely papers.  Sound like fun?

What a beautiful paper collection this is!  Because the images and patterns are quite large, I decided that instead of a little card folio, we’d make an 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ flip/flap folio this year.  The design is really fun, easy to construct, and loaded with possibilities.

If you are a gardener or a lover of botanical prints, I think you will really enjoy this series.  Today I’m going to introduce the papers and the designs, show you how to make the folio base, and start decorating the February folio.  Since I had to use the January papers to come up with the folio design, there’s not a step by step for January.  But you can use the photos for January with the measurements from February and all will be well.

A Peek Inside

These large folios are perfect for record-keeping, storing receipts, documenting monthly events and a beautiful decoration for your office or craft room.  Of course they are loaded with pockets and interactive pages, because that’s what makes them fun!

Since each month in the collection only has 2 pages (one pattern, one cut apart) I had to get innovative and bring in other papers to complete the folio design.  The January folio pairs up beautifully with Graphic 45 Cottage Life.  So if  you have that collection in your stash, this is a great way to use it!

It’s amazing how well the images and color palette of these two collections work together.

I plan to share the Graphic 45 Flower Market Folio Tutorial for March in February, the April folio in March and so on and so forth so that you will have time to create them before the new month turns over.

I also used the Graphic 45 dies to create special pockets, envelopes, file folders and butterfly embellishments within each folio.

Don’t you love that the February flowers are pansies?  This is the folio we will build together in the step by step tutorial below.

The companion papers for this folio are from Heartfelt Creations Burst of Spring paper pad.  It’s amazing how well they work with the February designs and colors.

I also pulled in some patterns from Prima Darcelle.  This folio is purple-icious!

Sharing two folios in one month made for a very long video tutorial.  So I’ve broken it into two parts.  Part 1, which we will share today, features a walk through of the papers and the finished January folio.

Are you ready to get your craft on?  Please enjoy part 1 of this 2-part video tutorial.

I’ll be back on Thursday with the 2nd tutorial.

You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yummy – love the paper and definitely sounds like fun will be had this year! Cute idea framing the little Gardner and wonderful sentiments. Rebecca Nicklin nailed it with the “ball of string” statement…
