Graphic 45 Love Notes Sneak Peeks
Hello, Friends! Today I’m sharing my Graphic 45 Love Notes Sneak Peeks with you. I was lucky enough to be asked to create some samples using theses gorgeous papers. These projects will be on display in the G45 booth at Creativation this year. To see the mini album I created with By the Sea, look HERE.
Love Notes Sneak Peeks: Music Themed Trifold Tag and Pocket Folio
Let me tell you, friends…this collection is stunning! I literally gasped when I pulled it out of the box. The colors are deep and rich, the patterns are elegant and the theme is love and music. It’s a collection written in the key of G for “gorgeous.”
An Ornate Antique Brass Door Knocker is is the perfect accent for this regal collection. I’ve also added Shabby Chic Ornate Metal Brads in each corner of the album cover for that extra touch of class. And of course, I had to add Little Birdie Rosalind Roses in Sangria and Buttermilk to the mix.
Because of a glitch at the printer’s I only received the signature page (Love Notes) and the cut apart page (Lovely Lyrics) along with the 12″ x 12″ Patterns and Solids. But this was all I needed to compose this 6 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ x 1″ ode to love and music.
Black Silky Crush Ribbon serves as the closure for the album. Additional metal accents (G45 Shabby Chic Door Plate and Knob/Ornate Antique Brass Keys) are painted with black gesso, then brushed with gold paint to match the door knocker.
Love Notes Sneak Peeks: Time Saving Tips
Creating for a trade show is lots of fun…and a fair bit of pressure as you are usually working on very short deadlines. I received my package of G45 goodies at 3:30 PM on Monday and had to ship them out by 3:30 PM on Thursday to get them to the show on time. When this is the case, you have to find ways to save time while still creating a showroom floor-worthy project. I thought I’d share some of those time-saving tips with you.
Since I love interactive elements, I added lots of pockets with various inserts to this album. To get things started on the right note, I created a half page with a side pocket and tag inserts.
TIP: When you are creating on a short timeline, turn to your G45 tags and Tag Dies. It took just moments to create these lovely square tags. First, cover the tags with paper from the Love Notes Signature page. Then create a quick pocket with a cut apart image from “Lovely Lyrics.” Adhere just the sides and the bottom, then tuck in more images from the cut part page. Or, adhere just the edges of some fussy cut roses to create a tuck spot. Then top the tags with a bit of ribbon and more ornate keys. Simple, elegant and quick wins the day!
Love Notes Sneak Peeks: Policy Envelopes to the Rescue
TIP: G45 Policy Envelopes make great flip features! On the reverse side of the tag/pocket flap, I’ve used Red ATC Policy envelopes as a flip feature. Here’s how:
- First, carefully remove the string ties from the envelopes.
- Next, trace the envelope flap onto designer paper. Cut out and adhere to the inside of the envelope flap.
- Now, cover the envelopes with designer paper.
- Adhere the outside edge of the envelope flap to the album base.
- Finish by adhering a key at the base of each envelope to weigh it down.
- Small photos can be added to the front of each envelope if desired, and mementos can be securely tucked inside. You also have a space behind each envelope to add a photo.
Decorate Large Black Policy Envelopes with your designer paper for quick and easy pocket inserts. Then, cut your pocket opening a little off center for an interesting look.
Love Notes Sneak Peeks: Pull-Out Feature
The large center pocket on this album was begging for more tags. This time, I covered 3 Regular Black tags with paper from the 12″ x 12″ Patterns and Solids. Then, to change things up a little, I created little folios to hold photos and adhered them to the front of each tag.
TIP: When adding designer paper to the back of the folio, leave an open edge at the top. This makes space for a clever hidden tag insert. Score a Large Black Tag at 3 3/4″. Then die cut 2 tag liners using the Large Tag/ATC Tag and Flowers Die. Cut each tag liner into 2 sections. Adhere one section above and one below the score line and insert into the hidden pocket.
Love Notes Sneak Peeks: Valentines Day Shaker Card from Scraps
After creating the folio, I still had a few Love Notes Scraps on my work table. So I decided to showcase the versatility of this collection by creating a very girly, shabby chic pink Valentine Shaker card.
Once again, I’ve altered a Tim Holtz Vignette Frame as the base for my shaker box element. A small image from the cut apart page is popped up over the Signature page background, then filled with Rose Garden Sequin Mix.
Little Birdie Candy Flowers really pop against Black Plaid Ribbon.
A G45 Shabby Chic Clock Key is the perfect finishing touch for this romantic card.
The inside is very simple, as I was down to just a little fussy cut image and few scraps of paper. But I do love how elegant it looks.

Kathy, wait. What? You had only signature and cut apart paper?! You knocked it out of the park and certainly proved the value of patterns and solids. Both of these projects are delish.
Beautiful… this convinced me that I should be buying the patterns and solids packs… I ‘ve only purchased the 12 x12 or 8×8 albums and made do. Lovely!
Wow, Kathy! I hardly know where to begin and I’m sure I don’t have enough space to write everything I want to say. I’ll start by saying these are two of the most stunning projects i’ve seen. That collection is absolutely amazing. The folio has so much going on, I could look at it for hours! And that door knocker is the cat’s meow. You always add something that makes the whole project perfection! The shaker card with the plaid covered buttons is to die for. To think you created it from scraps! Your creativity is off the charts, Girl! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
This collection is truly gorgeous and you’ve definitely created a beautiful folio. You’ve done the collection proud!
