Throwback Thursday: Graphic 45 Time to Flourish May Folio Tutorial
Hello, Friends! Even though it’s hard to believe, it is time to share our Graphic 45 Time to Flourish May Folio Tutorial. May??? Seriously? Where is this year going? If you are a regular follower on this blog, then you know we are enjoying a monthly series featuring this gorgeous paper collection. New to the blog? You can catch up on the previous months’ tutorials HERE.
May’s papers are so elegant with shades of purple, dragonflies, luscious botanical prints and floral images. I decided to pull out the green hues in the color palette rather than the pink ones. The end result is a regal looking folio that is perfect for Mother’s Day, May birthdays or any special occasion!
Layers of Love
I am so very fond of all the dragonflies that are depicted in the May papers. they haven’t appeared in my back yard yet this year, but my granddaughters have seen them! Because they are one of my favorite winged creatures, I echoed the dragonflies in the designer paper with a Reneabouquets glitter glass dragonfly and a silver dragonfly charm that I found in my stash. Perched on a heat embossed April in Paris Beautiful Board Doily, it really sets the tone for this folio.
Here’s a view from above with the folio peeking out from the hidden pocket.
You’ll find a pocket inside the folio, too. This one does double duty: it serves as a stopper or brake for the easel mechanism as well as a spot to tuck in photo mats and journal cards.
Hidden Pocket Mini Folio
We will create a 5 1/2″ square folio to tuck into the hidden pocket located beneath the card base.
There’s a storage pocket inside as well as a lovely flap page.
I’ve added photo mats and journal cards inside the folio. You’ll see how all of this comes together in the video tutorial below.

And thanks for sharing your beautiful creation with us and your helpful tutorials! Gorgeous dragonfly too! Big hugs, Suzy Q
P.S. Luv that Elderberry ribbon color (luv the name of it) lol …and all your gorgeous flowers that match it so well!
Kathy, this folio is beyond gorgeous! That dragonfly on that doily is just breathtaking. And how precious is that little charm?! I too am very partial to dragonflies as we have so many here on the farm. Also May is my birthday month and I just happen to think this particular collection is one of Graphic 45’s most beautiful with all the purples. Maybe I’m biased? LOL You have done an over the top design with this folio! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
This was another joyful day in Kathy’s world. I think the almost Mardi Gras color scheme is very opulent and is such a delight to view. Enjoy watching your videos because its like having tea and a chat and I always come away with some new knowledge. (Not easy to teach on old dog a new trick; but you do it so well and unobtrusively.) Thanks for another enjoyable couple of hours!
I am becoming quite fond of the colour purple, never really was a huge fan, but the last few years it’s grown on me. Love the folio Kathy, as usual your work shines! Like the dragonflies too! Fairies ride those!! 😉
How gorgeous is May’s offering!!! Girl, you outdid yourself again – this is stunning – I love it!!!!!!
I absolutely love when you do Purple & Green together. I can tell those are your colors!! This is so exquisitely DELICIOUS!!
