Halloween Witch’s Cauldron

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble: Halloween Witch’s Cauldron

RRRChallengeBadgeHello, Ribbon Lovers!

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble: It’s time for a brand new challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog!  We’re getting ready for everyone’s favorite spooky holiday: Halloween!  I’ve brewed up some frightfully good fun with a Halloween Witch’s Cauldron that’s filled with friendly ghosts, ghouls and goblins, black cats, owls and jack-o-lanterns.

Kathy by Design/Witch's CauldronNow, I have a confession to make.  Taking a photo of this project nearly brought me to my knees.  It is so cute in real life, but a stinker to photograph.  I finally took it out onto the screen porch to try and get a really good photo.  And wouldn’t you know it? I locked myself out of the house.  Talk about Trick or Treat!

I found this round black bank while cleaning up the Closet of Shame, and this whole project just popped into my head.  I added some cutie pie Halloween Images from Crafty Secrets and tied it all up into a neat bundle with Orange Plaid Ribbon with Black stitching, White Iridescent Metallic String, Orange Burlap String and Black Burlap String.  Of course, I used my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to tie all those spook-tacular ribbons!

Even the back side is decorated.

Kathy by Design/Witch's CauldronTo make the “goo” running down the side of the cauldron, I mixed liquid glue with black acrylic paint.  While it was still wet, I dusted it with clear glitter.  The collar is made from Tim’s weathered clock die, and that cute Itsy Bitsy Spider Ribbon was just the right width to trim out the top edge.

Witch Cauldron for RRR Halloween Challenge 03The ghosts were easy to make.  I rolled a small piece of cheesecloth into a ball, then placed the ball into a square of cheesecloth, tying it shut with a piece of Iridescent white metallic string.  I frayed the edges of the cheesecloth, and the string to make them look more spooky.

Now it’s your turn!  Link up your Halloween with Ribbon or Trim project on the RRR BLOG where you’ll find all the details.  I’ll be dropping in for a little visit, and I can’t wait to see what you make.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Kathy you have really made a gorgeous project! Your photography turned out just fine but I’m sorry you locked yourself outside. We are so damp and gloomy here this morning it’s impossible to get a good shot! Have a good weekend my friend!
