Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day: Some of my Favorite Patriotic Blasts from the Past

Hallo, Friends!  Happy Independence Day!  I hope you are all ready to celebrate this anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of independence with friends and family.  Our family loves the 4th of July!  At the moment, I’m recovering from a mean little summer cold, so I don’t have my usual Make & Take Tuesday tutorial for you.  In lieu of that, I thought we’d enjoy some of my favorite patriotic blasts from the past.  So crank up the John Phillip Sousa tunes, and let’s get this party started.

Authentique Liberty Patriotic Banner

Independence Day is certainly a banner worthy holiday!  You can find this festive banner HERE.  I’ve also included tips and how-tos for making the banner.

Authentique Honor Patriotic Card

Do y’all miss Authentique paper as much as I do?  This image is one of my very favorite July 4th images.  You can take a peek at this card HERE.

God Bless America Patriotic Kit

This God Bless America Patriotic Kit is still one of my favorite creations for The Button Farm Club.  There’s a little bit of everything, from mini album, to exploding box, to cards and even a banner.  Take a peek..I think you’ll like what you see.

Now this was a fun and festive project!  You can find the details HERE.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness Shaker/Pop-Up Card

Authentique Liberty Pop Up Shaker Card by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design PHoto 01

Liberty was another beautiful patriotic collection from Authentique!  I remember being very excited when I figured out how to use my star die to make this shaker frame.

And I was even more excited when I figured out how to turn those die cut stars into a pop-up element inside the card.  What fun!

Liberty Waterfall Folio Tutorial

Just to make sure we provide you with a tutorial today, here’s the link to a wonderful waterfall folio.

While the family is enjoying our annual Independence Day picnic and fireworks display, I’ll be in my comfy chair, sipping tea and reading a book.  I hope to be able to record a video for Thursday, but if my voice is not co-operating by then, I’ll post another batch of projects from the archives for you.  I like to keep you inspired!

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and heartfelt celebration of America’s birthday!  God Bless the USA!

Cheerio,

kathy

I missed this when you first posted it so I came back to watch the video. The mini album is so sweet and is cleverly put together. I adore the red/white/blue patriotic colors. Being proud of our history is an important thing and you have celebrated it in each of the projects you’ve shared. I am in awe of each one and how creative they are. Thank you for continuing to inspire.

Kathy, what a treat this was to once again see all of these fabulous patriotic creations! I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite , they are all so awesome. I especially love the Star shaker card. Thank you for taking us down memory lane. I hope you have fully recovered from your cold! Bless you and God Bless America! Hugs!

I concur that Authentique paper collections are greatly missed!! It pleases my patriotic heart to see so many of your projects in red, white and blue…I’m thinking of that lighthouse shaped birdhouse of a couple weeks ago…a fun seaside theme in July 4th colors. Having worn masks for these last couple of years, the cold virus was kept at bay. Now that we’re back to enjoying the company and smiles of friends and family, that bug is making the rounds again. I’m remembering all the fireworks displays of years gone by…replaced in recent years by the July 4th National Concert on PBS. Happy 4th to all!

Hope you’re feeling better soon, Kathy. Colds are for the winter! Love all the red, white and blue you’ve made over the years with those lovely vintage images.

I didn’t realize you had created so many patriotic cards and projects. They are all so beautiful. I do miss Authentique also. Thanks for posting even when you don’t feel so well. Take care and hope you feel better soon

Oh, I hope you feel like your old self again, real soon, Kathy. I know how nasty those summer colds can get. This is a wonderful collection of beautiful projects, and yes, I miss Authentique, too. Have a wonderful day with your family. God bless you and them as well. Big hugs, my dear friend!

Hope you’re starting to feel a little bit better, Kathy. Rest, tea, and a good book should do the trick. The kitties and I will stay inside and watch fireworks on television which is what we have done for several years. It’s just too scary out there right now, and I like to monitor the cats in between Mad Max mortar shell explosions outside. (Why do those hoodlums believe they sound the best at 3:00 a.m.?) Thanks for the share of your festive past projects. (Did not know they discontinued Authentique.) Going to fix up my oatmeal with the usual fresh blueberries and whipped cream and then sit down to watch your tutorial. It’s the best thing on this morning. Hugs to you and yours. Ann
