Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilac Tea Time Tea Party in a Box Card by Kathy Clement

Heartfelt Creations March 2021 Alumni Hop: Lush Lilac Tea Time Party in a Box Card

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to the Heartfelt Creations March 2021 Alumni Hop!  The hop starts here and lasts until 11:55PM EDT on Monday, March 29th.  Today I have combined two of my favorite Heartfelt Creations springtime collections: Lush Lilac and Tea Time.  The end result is this Lush Lilac Tea Time Party in a Box Slimline Card.

Tea Time Under the Lilacs

Wouldn’t you just love to have tea out under the lilacs?  Here’s how this sweet card came together.

  • First, score an 8 1/2″ x 11 sheet of lilac cardstock on the long side at 4 1/4″, 4 3/4″, 9 1/2″ and 9 3/4″.  Fold to form a top fold card base with 1/2″ spines on the top and bottom.
  • Stamp, die cut, shape, ink and layer a whole bunch of lilac blossoms from the Lush Lilac collection.  Brush the petals with Dries Clear Adhesive and sprinkle with Crystal Clear Glitter.
  • Now add a bit of adhesive to the center of each lilac and fill with Minnie Pearls Prills.
  • Next, cut an 8 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ panel of gingham paper from the Tea Time Collection for the front of the card.
  • Then die cut the Eyelet Lace Frame from white cardstock.  Cut it in half from side to side, then overlap the edge on the gingham pattern so that it fits the card base.
  • Now die cut 3 tea pots, tea cups and tea bag from the Tea Time paper pad.  Back these with dimensionals and adhere along the front of the card.  Decorate with the prepared lilac blossoms.

A Peek Inside

Create a box pocket inside the card.  (You can watch this video to see how to do this.)

Gift wrap tea bags, chocolate, cookies, and a honey pouch to tuck into the box pocket.  Use your paper scraps from Lush Lilac and Tea Time to do this.  Create a tiny note card as well.  Then tuck in a demitasse spoon and honey dipper to complete the Tea Party in a Box.

On With the Hop!

The timing of this is perfect. I recently received the tea time stamps and dies but haven’t been able to use them yet and my 95 year old mother just passed and I was wanting to make something for my angels, the hospice nurses and aids.. This is just perfect…so thank you!

This Tea Time Under the Lilacs is one of the best ideas EVER! I would love to do this and give it to a very special friend, or to receive one. It would be the most thoughtful gift!

I had to follow your product link to refresh my memory on the lace die…love this added feminine layer on the card front. Tea themes always draw my attention…love teapots and teacups!! I’m happy to say that I am really pleased with my tea themed stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations!! I continue to be entertained by the number of beautiful little spoons you like to include in your pockets…the bowl on this one is a lovely shape. Nice work, Kathy!

This card is absolutely fabulous. I recently purchased this collection and have been sitting looking at it rather devoid of inspiration. I just love your take on this and am going to use your idea as a base. My creative juices are now flowing and I cannot wait to get into my craft room. It is snowing today so I have a wonderful excuse to spend the day with my favourite crafting company Heartfelt Creations! Thanks for the ideas and I am delighted I discovered your blog hop!

Oh goodie – Surprise – a blog hop. The day just got better; a hop and the theme is TEA! And to boot a lovely array of beautiful flowers; does it get any better than this. And yes I would love to be by VA French Lilac tree sipping tea. Your lilacs are so pretty I wish I could see the crystal sparkle; sounds like it would look like the sun on morning dew!?! I bought this Heartfelt Creations collection; but I did not do it just like you have. Elegant, sophisticated like an English tea. I am breaking out some English china with my three-tiered server and throw myself a tea party. Great job.

My lilac is just starting to shoot out it’s leaves and blossoms will follow quickly. They are tight little nuggets one day and within hours it seems, they open up, smell heavenly and are beautiful. Would love to have tea outside, just not quite warm enough. Thanks for sharing this lovely card!

Kathy, this is absolutely stunning! And one of our favorite motifs…tea cups and tea pots! The colors in this collection are just beautiful. I love the way you wrapped the goodies inside and also the box design. It makes such a great gift and card all in one. Every card you design is so uniquely beautiful, Kathy. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

Beautiful card Kathy. Love the box pocket cards. Have not attempted one yet, but I just may as an Easter gift for a special sister of mine. I’ve been looking at the Heartfelt Creations items and they are just amazing. All what you really need to create just about anything. The flowers are well done & the sparkle is up my alley for sure. Just love bling and sparkle!! I’ll have to break down & try some. Be safe & TYFS
