Honey Bees, Fall Flowers and Ribbon
Hello, Friends! This cheery greeting card features Honey Bees, Fall Flowers, and Ribbon from my favorite ribbon shop: Really Reasonable Ribbon. It’s sweet and simple in design, but sure to brighten up your day.
Here’s a quick “recipe” for this card:
- First, create a 6 1/8″ square card base with kraft cardstock.
- Next, stitch a 4 1/2″ panel of Carta Bella Fall Fun sunflower paper over a 6×6 panel of green dots.
- Die cut a large doily from kraft paper, brush with white paint, and adhere in the card center.
- Now, wrap this panel with Brown Glitz Ribbon and adhere to the card front. I like to use Scor-Tape to hold my ribbon in place.
- Create a collaged focal image with stickers and ephemera from Photoplay Meadow’s Glow paper collection.
- Embellish with a large honeybee charm and a little crystal gem.
Brown Glitz Ribbon and Mixed Earth Tone Chrysanthemums
Now comes the fun part! Create the bow cluster with autumn hued Chrysanthemums and Brown Glitz Ribbon. I love the subtle shine of this pretty ribbon. And even though it is a wide ribbon, it still ties beautiful bows.
A Peek Inside
I can’t remember the last time I created a card without a pocket or a flap page, or a hidden panel! Creating the inside of a card is as much fun for me as designing the outside. This card has a fun flap page and a pocket!
TIP: Create a pocket for the seed packet with an ephemera tag. Simply adhere 3 sides of the tag to the back of the flap, then tuck the seed pack inside.
TIP: Dress up a blank sentiment panel with a strip of designer paper and a little tag.
Can you guess what’s inside this handmade envelope? Well, if you guessed a tea bag (Lady Grey) and some honey crystals, you’d be right on target!
TIP: Try tying the envelope closed with a bit of Natural Burlap String. I like to use 2 strands. Once the bow has been tied, tied knots in the string ends to keep things neat and tidy.
I can’t believe we are at the end of August already! Time to pull out those fall ribbons, papers and embellishments and celebrate my favorite crafting season! You’ll be seeing LOTS of fall projects for the next several weeks.
