I Must Have Flowers Always and Always: Carta Bella Farmhouse Market Card Folio

Hello Friends!  I Must Have Flowers always and always!  Do you feel that way?  I’m not much of a gardener, but I do love pretty floral papers and paper flowers on my projects.  This sweet little springtime card is made with the new Carta Bella Farmhouse Market Papers and some beautiful rolled roses from Little Birdie Crafts.

I Must Have Flowers…and Pretty Pretty Ribbons, too!

Light Coral Diamond Satin Ribbon is absolutely dreamy with this paper collection.  I’ve paired it up with some Iridescent Metallic String in the bow cluster. The way this string reflects the colors that surround it is absolutely magical!

And how about those flowers?  These lovely Layla Pastel Palette blooms are so pretty!  Did you know you can alter your Little Birdie Flowers?  First, I gently tapped the edges with a little Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  Then I brushed on some Stamperia Gold Dew Glamour Gel to add a touch of sparkle.  You can also brush them with Perfect Pearls or any mica based powder.  The subtle shading and shine adds to the vintage feel of this pretty card.

I Must Have Flowers: A Peek Inside

Turn this pretty card into a gift by adding a couple of pockets on the inside.  Fill the top pocket  with a color matched tea bag, note card, and decorated honey stick.

Decorate a pretty bookmark with Coral Rose Swiss Dots Satin and Petal Peach Quatrefoil Satin Ribbon.  Stitch the paper bookmark pieces onto some canvas to make a  soft bookmark that will last a long time.  This is a stamp that I’ve had in my stash for a very long time. Sadly, it has been discontinued.  But you could always print the sentiment out on your computer and add to the bookmark that way.

I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your own crafty adventures.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Ooh pretty!!! The papers are so pretty and you always know just the right detail to put on your cards. Take good care of yourself, Kathy. We must keep praying for God to eliminate this pandemic.

I love, love the composition. Today I didn’t even skip to center first and then return to the front, because my eyes danced over to the stitching on front mat and then to the flowers and finally mats, buttons & gingham. Ah the bling on flowers – nice touch and more lovely stitching on the inside. Makes me want to learn to sew… And how appropriate is the saying on the tag (with the chair) for current times! How do you always manage to find those tags or stamps with just the correct tone to make us smile? Little Birdie flowers are too precious, especially blinged out, and what a cost savings – soon going in my cart! Such pretty spring time colors. You captured my imagination so that (can you believe it) I didn’t even look for the tea! You always pay such attention to composition, colors, patterns & embellishments – a master at what you do. Thanks for the eye popping journey today!

I’m really getting a 1950s feel from this lovely card…stitching, rolled roses, buttons…gives me that “homemade” look that I so enjoyed from that era. Gingham plus a floral print…love it! Your site continues to brighten our overcast skies…much appreciated, Kathy!

Just so lovely, Kathy. The papers, the embellishments, the goodies–it’s so quintessentially you! Especially like the bookmark…and the papers. I just might have to treat myself with this paper set now that I’m at home using up my paper stash (lol). tfs-hugs!

What a gorgeous card Kathy! I can just imagine the sweet scent of a garden full of flowers. And ohhhh, those colors. I think coral has become one of my favorite colors and that ribbon is scrumptious. I really like the contrast of the rustic cutout with all the pretty flowers surrounding it. And your little bookmark is just adorable with that cute sentiment. Thank you once again for sharing your beautiful creations! Hugs!

These papers are so pretty and your gift card is a breath of fresh spring air, Kathy! I’ve missed seeing your gorgeous work on your blog as I took some time away from my computer to tie up some loose ends last couple weeks. (It seems like a lifetime!) Of course, all your details like the stitching, those perfect bows, shimmery flowers and buttons add so much to the pretty layers! What a gem! I hope you are doing well, Kathy, and I hope to e-mail you a bit later. Just taking some time this morning to enjoy the quiet and take myself into your world of beautiful makes this morning. Sending love and hugs!
