You Inspire Me

HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 04Heartfelt Creations Wednesday: You Inspire Me

Hello, friends!  I’m back with another card made from the amazing “All Geared Up” collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I’ve added some Center Stitched Burlap Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to add texture and a rustic vibe to  this “You Inspire Me” card.  Take a look:

HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 03aI wanted to make the ribbon match the “grunge” vibe of the papers, so I sponged it with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and frayed the edges.  It’s a bold masculine card, even with the gear flowers and ribbon, don’t you think?

HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 01aI used all the delicious dies in the All Geared Up collection to add lots of layers to the card.  I love the chain, and it is so easy to make with the die that comes in the collection.

HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 04HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 06aI kept the inside of the card pretty simple, using more papers and some artwork from the collection to finish it off.

HC All Geared Up You Inspire Me 05I just love these colors together!  And, this is a really quick card to make for those days when time is of the essence!  You’ll find a complete supply list and tutorial below.

Thanks for stopping by!  Just so you know…YOU inspire me!  Your comments and thoughts always brighten my day and spur me on in my creative endeavors!

Cheerio,

kathy

All Geared Up: You Inspire Me Card

Heartfelt Creations Products and Product Carried by HC:
Dies: HCD 754 All Geared Up, HCD 745 Luggage and Tags; Stamps: HCPC 3632 Plates and Gears PreCut Set; Paper: HCDP1 248 All Geared Up Paper Collection, Other: 452255 Grand Calibur, 452069 Spellbinders Labels 4 Grand Nestabilities, DDOTS Double Dots Foam Adhesive
Other Product: Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Broken China Distress Ink, Ranger Coffee Archival Ink, clear embossing powder; Paper: SU Lost Lagoon Cardstock, SU Chocolate Chip Cardstock, Bronze Glimmer Paper (DCWV); Other: Spellbinders Creative Cogs 3-D M-Bossabilities; metal gears, copper brad, compass brad, Turquoise Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon)

Directions: Create a 5″ x 7″ side opening card base from Lost Lagoon cardstock, tearing the right hand side of the card. Cut a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ rectangle of the verdigris and cream paper from the collection. Ink the debossing side of the Spellbinders embossing folder with Vintage Photo ink. Spritz the paper lightly with water and place face up on the embossing side of the folder. Run through your machine. Ink the edges of this embossed panel with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, then mat on Chocolate Chip cardstock. Cut a 7″ length of the Turquoise Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon and attach it to the center portion of the embossed panel, securing the loose ends behind the panel with tape. Glue this panel to the card base.
Use the second to the smallest Labels 4 Grand Nestabilities to die cut the crown image from the brown paper in the collection. Let the left hand side of the die go off the paper so that the left hand side of the die cut will be straight. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Mat on Chocolate Chip cardstock. Use foam dots to attach the die cut about 1/2″ from the card fold.
Use Coffee Archival Ink to stamp the “You Inspire Me” sentiment from HCPC 3632 onto a scrap of white cardstock. Emboss with clear embossing powder. Die cut with the license plate die from HCD 754 All Geared Up. Sponge the edges with Vintage Photo Ink and the center with Broken China DI. Use Double Dots to attach to the die cut panel, as shown.
Create a single bow from the Turquoise Center Stitch Ribbon. Top with metal gears and a copper brad. Glue to the left hand side of the die cut panel, as shown.
Die cut the chains and gears out of the bronze glimmer paper. Cut slits in the ends of the chain to link them together, then glue down onto the card as shown. Cut the 2 large gears in half and place beneath the die cut panel, as seen on the card. Cut one small gear from Lost Lagoon cardstock, but do not evacuate the small holes. Back the smallest gear with this die cut, top with a compass brad and attach with foam dots as shown.
For the interior of the card, cut a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ panel of paper from the same sheet as the crown paper you used on the front of the card. Tear the right hand side and ink all the edges with Vintage Photo DI. Cut the small aqua square from the artwork page, and mat it onto brown cardstock. Use the ticket die from HCD 745 to die cut the “nuts and bolts” ticket. Glue onto the aqua panel and add to the top right hand corner of the card, as shown.

What a great card Kathy! I love the papers you chose and the hint of aqua amongst all the neutrals is very eye-catching! I love how you shabbied up the ribbon by fraying the edges and staining it with ink…brilliant! Another stunner my crafty friend! hugs 🙂
