Ciao Bella Into the Wild Altered Album Part 2: Making the Mini Album
Hello, Friends! Today we’re going to share the tutorial for our Ciao Bella Into the Wild Altered Album Part 2. If you missed Part 1 of this series where we created the mixed media book box case, you can find it HERE.
Creating this two-part project was a lot of work, but boy, was it fun! First, the papers are so gorgeous that they are a real treat to work with. Squirrels, fall colors, acorns, falling leaves and plaid patterns make me ridiculously happy!
Next, I enjoyed the challenge of creating a layered cover that was not too dimensional to fit inside the box. This led to a lot of creative fussy cutting, which I also happen to enjoy.
Since I had a little bit of burlap left over from making the box, I decided to add it to the album spine. Texture makes me happy, too.
A Peek Inside
To keep with my Throwback Thursday goal of using up goodies from my stash, I went on a treasure hunt in the Closet of Inspiration and Delight. This was also lots of fun, and yielded some great pockets, mini file folders and tabbed dividers that added a lot to the album pages.
The album is made with a really easy to construct stacked spine design. Each spine in the 3 page sets is scored a little smaller than the previous page. This gives us the opportunity to add lots of little flips, flaps and pockets.
Here’s a peek at my favorite page. You will learn how I did this in the YouTube tutorial.

Great lessons learned here with this collection…I’ve got to get brave enough to make an album and many pages. Your detailed descriptions will be of great help! Thanks again for a fantastic journey!
Made to match in every way, this book/folio has so much in the details, these videos are going to require more than one view. Incorporating a pop up is such a super surprise when you turn the page! And yes you have shown me that file folder die in my stash definitely needs a work out. And once again we are using the same thing, ground espresso ink is out of the drawer ready to go over the weekend, and it isn’t autumn here but spring…… a fab colour for all things vintage though. Somehow you have managed to bring together, cute, earthy, textured and vintage themes and make them work perfectly. Well done indeed.
Exquisite!! I hope I have enough time this weekend to go watch the videos and get inspired even more. The Fall yard work is calling my name quite loudly. Thank you Kathy!! This project is just perfect!!
Oh my goodness Kathy!!! I think everyone is in luv with these! This set is just adorably perfect!!! Luved all your papers you coordinated with together and especially that pop up squirrel is cute as can be!!! Great surprise! Luv the burlap too!! I don’t have these exact papers, but I have a similar gf45, I think! Now to find a box …thanks for the wonderful inspiration! Big hugs, Suzy Q
Love everything about this project! Your creativity is amazing! Can’t think of a better way to use this paper collection than what you have done. I definitely want to try making this book. Thank you for sharing.
