Kaisercraft Miss Betty Sewing Themed Card for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  For today’s installment of Throwback Thursday we’re making a Kaisercraft Miss Betty Sewing Themed Card.  I found this collection while purging and re-organizing The Closet of Delight (formerly known as The Closet of Shame.)  Since it is too hot to pursue outdoor fun right now in North Carolina, I’ve been working on restoring order there.  As usually happens during one of these purging sprees, I found loads of retired collections just waiting to be given new life.  Oh, happy day!

Throwback Thursday Kaisercraft Miss Betty Card by Kathy Clement

There is nothing fancy about this card base.  It’s a simple 6×6 top fold card made from half a sheet of 12×12 white cardstock.  So what are we focusing on in this Throwback Thursday?  Composition and paper collage, dear friends, two of my favorite techniques.

We’ll make this pretty collage style card together in the video tutorial below.

Did you enjoy that?  I’m trying to keep my tutorials pared down to the essentials because life is so busy.  I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.

***Please note: Since Throwback Thursday posts use goodies from The Closet of Delight, I may not always be able to find them online.  I’ll link whenever possible, but if there’s not a link, it’s usually because the item is discontinued or sold out.  Sometimes you can find these items on E-bay or Etsy. I always enjoy the sewing theme and yours is so beautiful Kathy!! I was never great at sewing, but I still take out the machine and sew some on my art projects and of course sew up any holes in garments that we need mending. I have also been known to perform “surgery” on all of our pets babies and beds, so much so that now my son brings my grand dog Beau’s babies to me and asks that grandma perform surgery-LOL!!

Kathy, what a gorgeous card! Anything sewing themed takes me right back to my childhood days when my Grandma taught me how to sew. Oh the hours I spent by her side learning this wonderful skill. This collection is just beautiful and your collage style is fantastic! I was able to snag a few of these papers online. Now I have inspiration how to use them! Thank you so much for sharing and for the tutorial! Hugs!
