Key to My Heart Wall Hanging

Key to My Heart Wall Hanging with Really Reasonable Ribbon & Reneabouquets

Hello, Friends!  Valentine’s Day will soon be here, and this Key to My Heart Wall Hanging is bursting with beautiful flowers and trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The idea popped into my head when I received a new box of Valentine’s Day goodies from Reneabouquets.  A Victorian style layered heart beautiful board practically begged me to turn it into a shaker box. How could I say no?

Soon I found myself thinking about the word “tussy mussy” and the next thing I knew I was up to my elbows in creating this floral bouquet/wall hanging/shaker box.  It’s not technically a tussy mussy, of course, but more like my nod  to those lovely little bouquets of flowers and herbs that were quite popular during the  Victorian era.

Say it With Flowers…and Ribbon!

Once I finished preparing all the beautiful board layers with embossing powder, it was time to create the box.  So I stacked each element using foam tape between the layers to create some nice dimension.  Punch a hole in the corrugate heart layer on the bottom, then string ribbon through it to create a hanger.  Attach a tassel on the bottom, decorate with ribbon, flowers and charms, and all the hard work is done.

Now you get to add lots of beautiful pink, coral and ivory flowers to decorate the heart.  I’ll link to all the elements in the supply list below this post.

A Little Personal Note

Toward the end of last week I came down with the flu, so I’ve been out of commission here on the blog and on my YouTube channel. It really knocked my legs out from under me!   I’m finally starting to feel a little bit stronger, although I still tire very easily.  Dale is taking good care of me, and I’ve been pretty lazy, to tell the truth!  I know I missed out on our scheduled Flower of the Month Tutorial, but I’ll make it up to you next week.  Just wanted to let you know that I wasn’t playing hooky…I was pretty much out for the count until Wednesday afternoon.

You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  Have a joyful and creative weekend.

Nice floral abundance gives this project a beautiful look. The heart shapes are lovely…nice design choices. I like the dangles…movement elements can really elevate a project. Glad to hear that you’re on the road back to health after a bout with the flu. Practice being a couch potato and watch all the beautiful ice skating that’s on this weekend. I’m trying to get used to new glasses…things are looking a bit weird!!

Beautiful arrangement and variety of blooms Kathy and the tiny keys tucked in with heart handles are a lovely nod too for Valentines. I hope you are improving by the day, take your time, patience is a virtue apparently!
It is still very hot and humid here, typically summertime.
