Let’s Make a Bee Themed Banner

Let’s Make a Bee Themed Banner with Paper Rose Bees and Butterflies & Reneabouquets

Hello, Friends!  It’s Wonderful Wednesday, so let’s make a bee themed banner together with Paper Rose Bees and Butterflies!  It’s as inviting as a freshly mowed lawn, a well-tended flower bed and as sweet as honey!

Green ticking ribbon, honeycomb, flirty butterflies, buzzing bees and pretty floral elements just feel like summer, don’t they?

I’ve used Graphic 45 Kraft Tags (ATC and Regular) and dies along with Eileen Hull Sizzix House/Pocket Stitchlets Dies to create the pennants for this banner.  Vintage lace, ribbons from my stash and pretty brown buttons give it a nice homespun feel.  The color scheme will carry this banner right through summer and into early fall, which is nice.

Bees and Hives

Each end of the banner features a matching  G45 ATC tag and a pretty ribbon cluster.  I’ll show you how to hang the little dangle charms as part of the tutorial.

TIP:  Tuck a tassel into your bow cluster for a fun change of pace.  I topped mine with a jump ring, which made it very easy to tuck into place.

The Shaker Frame

Placing a shaker frame in the center panel is one of my favorite things to do.  But this time I wanted a circular frame, and there were none to be found in my stash.  So I created my own frame with my circle dies.  I’ll show  you how to do it, too, in the video tutorial.

More Bees and Flowers

Reneabouquets has the most gorgeous bee themed embellishments!  This corner piece fits the base of our pocket die pennant perfectly, doesn’t it?  A

TIP:  Add a touch of burlap for texture and to help ground all these bold colors.  It really works!

Bees and Honey

Pop up a fussy cut honey jar and honey dipper to dress up one of the Regular Tag dies.  Tuck a bit of burlap behind it to really make it pop!

I hope you enjoyed today’s Wonderful Wednesday tutorial.  I’ll be back next week with our Choose Your Own Adventure Card tutorial.  We’ll make 2 cards with 2 different paper collections but only 1 card recipe.  Graphic 45 Season to Celebrate will be used for one card, and Bees and Butterflies will be used for the other.  It should be a happy time!
