Loads of Love Shaker Card with Spellbinders Eyelet Lace , Reneabouquets and Prima My Sweet
Hello, Friends! Today I’m sending you a Loads of Love Shaker Card made with all sorts of frilly pink paper pretties. Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it, so it’s time to put away all the Christmas craft supplies. I reached into my stash of Prima My Sweet papers because I just love this darling vintage pickup truck. Paired up with a frilly Eyelet Lace Die and some adornments from Reneabouquets, it’s about as pinkalicious as a card can get!
Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve ever made a shaped card base before. It was easier to do than anticipated! I just made sure to place the left hand cutting blades so that they did not touch the side fold of my card. Then I die cut! Next, I die cut another panel, but this time I place the frame insert inside the die so that I would have a shaker window to work with.
After I adhered clear cardstock and foam tape to the back of the frame, I simply centered and adhere it to the shaped card base.
The finishing touch was a bit of ribbon, deep pink roses and a flirty butterfly.
A Peek Inside
Look how pretty the inside of the shaped card base turned out. You will have to trim the inside panels of patterned paper just a little to make them fit, but that’s easy!
Add a little note card, a little tea bag and a honey stick, and you’ve got a sweet Valentine!
I love how easy it was to turn this die into a big shaker window. There are a few other ideas rolling around in my brain, and if I can grab a few extra minutes in the studio, I’ll try to make them come to life!
You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Second Renea Harrison’s statement with my heart! Love abounds from all and each said it better than I could.
I love the “Adult” Valentine card – so sweet and would be loved by any recipient . Beautiful and thank you for sharing!!
How precious and fun this card is!! You always capture something unique in the way you create! It touches the heart, inspires the mind and makes your hands itch to hold it in them. You are truly one of the best paper crafters I have had the joy of following <3
wow, lovely card! I do love the old trucks, the colour choices are great and the flowers, it would be nice to see some crocus by valentines but I doubt it. We are supposed to get more snow tonight!!! It can go kick rocks!!!! So done with it and everything else. A little bit of love needs to be spread and this card definitely does that. Great project Kathy.
Beautiful card. I loved the shaker element.
Kathy, what a darling Valentine card! I never even gave a second thought to try a shaped base card. I just figured that was something beyond my skill level. LOL That frame die is just gorgeous and works so beautifully as a shaker window. Your flowers, ribbon and butterfly are the icing on the cake! Just gorgeous and I love the old pickup with the big box of love. So glad to see Valentine cards coming down the pike! Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
