Photoplay Love and Cherish Anniversary Folio Tutorial for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  It’s all about love this for Throwback Thursday Anniversary Folio Tutorial!  We’re going to create a lovely Photoplay Love & Cherish project to help our friends Neal and Ruth celebrate 50 years of wedded bliss!  I was going to make them a card, but decided that 50 years called for a more substantial offering.  So I whipped up this easy to make (I promise!) folio to share with you today.

I really like the size of this folio.  Don’t let the 6 1/2″ size fool you; I’ve build loads of room for photos and journaling into design.  Ruth’s favorite colors are turquoise and pink, which blend beautifully with the somewhat neutral palette of the paper collection.

I added a pop of color with a Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Frame that I transformed into a shaker element.  Don’t the shaker bits look like confetti?  And how perfect is the sentiment within the frame?

Although I used this folio base to build an anniversary themed folio, you can take the same design and adapt it to  your own custom theme.

A Peek Inside

There’s loads of room inside for photos and journaling.  I  kept the embellishments to a minimum to make sure of that.

You’ll learn some fun tricks and tips in the video tutorial below.  Here’s a sneak peek of the tag pocket.  Tags are the perfect spot to write down memories, quotes or even a spot for small photos.

Perhaps my favorite element is this nifty (and easy to make!) photo folio that sits in the left hand pocket.  Once you learn how to make these, you’re going to want to do it again and again.

If you’d like to see how this folio base is built, how to add the mechanisms and decorate the cover, then I hope you’ll enjoy this video.  Go grab a cuppa and a snack, then press play and enjoy!

I’m excited to gift this folio to our friends at their party.  We met them when we were out on one of our morning walks, and although we  haven’t known them for long, we have a lot in common.  It’s always a happy occasion when people gather together to celebrate a lasting love, isn’t it?

You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks for stopping by!
