Throwback Thursday Lovely Lemons Shaker Card Tutorial
Hello, Friends! Because summer and citrus go together I’m offering up a Lovely Lemons Shaker Card Tutorial. Yes, friends, it’s Throwback Thursday again at long last! It’s been a busy summer, and I have fallen behind in work, in housekeeping, in answering mail and responding to comments on the blog. How life gets so busy, I’ll never know. But I was determined to get a Throwback Thursday tutorial out to you this week. And I did it! Phew!
Lovely Lemons and Buzzing Bees
This throwback Thursday takes us back to 2019 when Prima Marketing released their luscious Fruit Paradise collection. Oh, how I love the fruit images and summer color palette of these papers!
I’ve paired the papers up with some scrumptious Lemon Beautiful Board, summery blossoms and Bee embellishments from Reneabouquets. Every time I look at this card, all I can think about is lemon meringue pie!
Did you spy the little shaker window on the right hand side of the card? You will learn how to make that with the Spellbinders June 2021 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month. It’s a quick and fairly easy way to make a shaker element.
This busy bee is drawn to the flowers like….well bees to honey, I suppose! I’ll link the flowers in the supply list at the end of this post.
A Peek Inside
The lemon theme carries over to the inside of the card…which doubles as a gift.
There’s a gift card pocket on the top of the card along with a little note card and room to add a photo…or a recipe for something lemony and delicious!
The box pocket has a tea wallet, honey stick, vintage spoon and cookie packet. When the treats are consumed, you could store your favorite lemon recipes in the pocket. Then display the card in your kitchen as part of your home décor.

SUPPLY LIST
Please note: Throwback Thursday posts are designed to encourage you to dig into your stash of lovely older paper collections. Sometimes the products I use are no longer available for purchase. If I do not link a product, it’s because I could not find it for you. Thanks for understanding!
- Prima Fruit Paradise Collection
- this is all I could find left of the collection online. I used 12×12 foiled papers, but you could get similar results with the A4 pad. I also used chipboard and the 3×4 journal cards.
- Reneabouquets
- Ivory Taffeta Ribbon
- Gold Metallic String

I love the way you did the shaker aspect on this card! I don’t think I would ever have thought to do a shaker in this way or use a die cut. I love that about your tutorials. I’m always learning new things. I have to admit that life has gotten in my way too and I’ve been more under the weather than I usually am with my health issues so I’m behind in your posts but had already planned to go back and catch up. I think it sometimes is easy to think your comment or like doesn’t really matter so this is a reminder that it does matter and I really appreciate that you gave us a gentle nudge. I think it’s perfectly ok for you to ask us to continue our support because you give so much to us. Thank you for all your crafty creations and for taking time to share them with us.

I love your presentations. I’ve been watching them mostly in your blog. But will be more mindful to watch them on youtube and like them there, from now on.
Gah! Kathy, another beauty! I actually came to go look at the blue dragonfly shaker card again, but then saw this :). I just wanted to mention that the Bow it All videos are really on Bonnie Garby’s YT channel, using her name. That’s where I learned how to use the BIA. the Bow it all channel has some videos, but Bonnie’s is the best resource, in case anyone is looking specifically for them! Also, I’ll hit up all the social media outlets for you too.. that really is weird for such a big drop in numbers. Hope it goes back up for you!
One of my favourites!!! I do love this card Kathy!!! My Dad made the best lemon meringue pie!!
Another lovely idea for how to use some of my paper collections I have just scratched my head with…thinking, what can I do? I’m glad I can comment on this, as I don’t seem to be able to “like” youtube videos, as I don’t subscribe to it…I guess? I share your posts via email since I subscribe to your site, with my dear sister-in-law who is going great guns after I introduced her to paper collections, dies, making albums, and she’s on a card making binge currently. She loves your videos and ideas too. Love the throwback Thursday ideas you come up with!
This card has to be one of my favorites – simply gorgeous, Kathy!!!!
So luscious Kathy!! I love the Lemon theme. It is such a visual ray of sunshine!!
This is a beautiful card folio!
Love this stunning card, Kathy!! I hear many talk about algorithms on You Tube. I don’t understand it all but I’m certain it’s doesn’t have a thing to do with your creations!! You have always been top of the heap in everything you do and love your videos! ❣️
Love your blog- it makes my daybeautiful card.
Oh so beautiful,…. such soothing colors and imagery. Love, love, love the shaker! Will definitely be trying that with the die set
I love this card, Kathy! I’m partial to everything about it….lemons and bees. In fact lemon actually surpassed chocolate for me a couple of years ago. I can’t get enough of it. This paper is gorgeous and I can just taste the lemon pie! LOL The shaker window is so pretty and unique. I like the way it’s off to the side and your flowers are gorgeous! That little bee is loving them! Thank you for sharing ! Off to see the video! Hugs!
