March 2024 Birthday Card of the Month Tutorial with Stamperia Romance Forever

Hello, Friends!  Are you ready for our March 2024 Birthday Card of the Month Tutorial?  This is our third BCOM tutorial in 2024.  You can find the January and February BCOM tutorials HERE and HERE.

Have you seen Stamperia Romance Forever yet?  It came out around Valentine’s Day.  If you love shabby chic, pastels and gorgeous florals, I think you’re going to really enjoy working with this collection.  I know I thoroughly enjoyed creating this bookmark in a pocket card folio, and I hope you will, too.

Soft Spring Florals

Pastel shades of lilac, pink, rose and cream make this collection perfect for a spring time birthday card.  I could not resist cutting around the edges of this gorgeous floral clock image.

Next, stitch the image to a slightly larger panel of the crocheted lace doily pattern from the 8×8 paper pad.  Leave an opening you so can tuck a bookmark into the pocket, and now you have a gift.

TIP: Don’t forget to use the artwork on the front cover of these beautiful paper collections.  Trim out the sample panel of the floral border, stitch it to a slightly larger panel of lavender cardstock, back it with lace and you’ve made a really pretty bookmark.

A Peek Inside

Flaps and pockets really help to make a card special.  Score an 8″ x 6 7/8″ panel of patterned paper at 4 3/4″ .  Fold on the scored line and you have a flap page in no time!  Dress up the front of the flap with a stamped sentiment, pretty frame and a chipboard turn tab.

Add a 4″ x 3″ panel of pink cardstock inside the flap as a sentiment spot.  By the way…is this paper gorgeous or what?

Fill the pocket with fun surprises like a lavender sachet sewn from rice paper, a little birthday tag and something special (not tea!) inside one of the cut out envelopes from the collection.

Oooh this is so beautiful, vintage and shabby all in one. Lovely gifts not just tucked inside but also on the cover. I love the way you popped a tiny complimentary bow and bloom on the key, and of course you have inspired me to get cracking too!
Just my massive craft stash to pack, but I have a list of birthday cards to make, and will be creative over the next few days, then have some downtime over Easter.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful project.

Hi dear Kathy, It has been awhile. I keep you in my heart and wish you the best always. I also wanted you to know I almost always read your posts and continue to be delighted with your beautiful creations. The recent Spring tea party in the garden was stunning and this latest birthday card with all the sweet pink roses, the little lilacs nestled in the scene and the quote was enchanting. Is Etsy the best place to purchase a recent creation and one that you’ve highlighted in your posts?
Sending you a smile and appreciation for all the beauty you continue to bring to the world. Love and light, Kay
