Nature Themed Masculine Cards with Ribbon
Hello, Friends! Do you struggle when it comes to making masculine cards? How about when you try to use ribbons on masculine cards? Well, you are not alone. Today I have a couple of quick to make nature themed masculine cards with ribbon to share with you. I hope that by the time we get to the end of this post you’ll be saying, “Why yes! I can use ribbon on a masculine card!”
Nature Themed Masculine Card #1: Explore Nature’s Majesty
See? What did I tell you? This is a 5″ x 7″ top fold card made with the Paper House Field Study Collection. It’s probably retired, as I found it during a shopping trip at Tuesday Morning. Unlike my usual heavily layered cards, this one’s pretty simple. The Moss/Cream Gingham Bow is topped with Natural Burlap String and a button from my stash.
The inside is equally simple, with some nice nature quotes and room to write a personal note.
Nature Themed Masculine Cards with Ribbon #2: Always Be on the Lookout for Wonder
The RRR February Ribbon Club Assortment has some fabulous green ribbons in it. That’s what inspired me to purchase this paper. (Any excuse, right?) This Bud Green Taffeta Ribbon adds a great pop of color and texture to this green and gold botanical beauty. And of course, I tied the bows with my Zutter Bow It All Tool.
I love the contrast in texture that you get when you combine Gold Metallic String with Natural Burlap String. This vintage button is from my stash, and I love the fact that it looks like stone.
This pocket is a handy spot to tuck in a note, a gift card or any other kind of treat.
So, now how do you feel about using ribbon on a masculine card? I hope I’ve shared some tips and tricks that you can use. If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Hi kathy both cards are fantastic . Different but ideal for male cards especially with the addition of the ribbon. I often wonder why we always seem to hesitate a lot longer when doing male cards but these two fit the bill. Thanks for inspiration.
Can I just add having read Suzy Q comment a well done for putting all those smiles on faces next week. Smiles are priceless.
Take care my friend Carol x
Mission accomplished, Kathy…Why, Yes! I can use ribbon on men’s cards! Thank you so much for this post because I am always challenged for ideas when it comes to making cards for men unless I know their passions. My choral friends are easy but others, not so much. These cards are great!
Love the subtly striking cards and luckily, Joann’s has the Paper House Field Study Collection!
Kathy, these are gorgeous and very different. I always use the same subject matter on masculine cards. I’m embarrassed to admit that I never thought of these themes. Thank you so much. You so inspire me.
One thing for sure is that we don’t have enough masculine cards made, well I don’t. Like this one a lot and as usual the papers and the details used is perfect. Thanks for sharing Kathy.
Love the nature theme.
These cards are so beautifully created, Kathy. Even with the minimal and subtle embellishment they show your impeccable talent for having all the elements come together so well. Especially like the second card with its metallic touches and natural colors–it’s like a walk in the woods! Hope I can find this paper at Tuesday Morning. tfs
Yes yes yes …I like your bows on masculine cards! The gingham and burlap string are a natural together …plus they blend in so well that even the non-bow guys surely would let it slip! Lol! My hubby does like all that fru-fru stuff! And he is a macho, deer hunter kind of guy thru and thru! I luv them both kathy! And they’re simple too! Luv the papers! Papers really do make the card!!! Thanks and hugs to you!
P.S. You’d be surprised what you can do when challenged! I knocked out 50 Valentine cards in 2 days this week…for a young girl Olivia (whom I’ve never met) in Wayne county who wants to match last year’s collection of 2000 cards to help brighten the day for our local nursing home residents, employees and our youth at children’s hospitals … They’re not fancy cards but …if it brings just one smile on a face…my mission is accomplished! Ladies we all have stashes we haven’t touched in ages! Make someone’s world brighter and deliver some cards to your local nursing facility or hospital! And I promise it will put a smile on your face all day long!!!
URAQT! Best wishes! Suzy Q
