Nautical Themed Accordion Folio for the RRR Hop

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop:  Nautical Themed Accordion Folio

Hello, Friends!  For this month’s RRR Blog Hop, I have a Nautical Themed Accordion Folio adorned with the May Ribbon Club Assortment.  If you are coming here from Karen’s lovely blog, then you are right on track.   I look forward to the red, white and blue assortment every year.  And  these Vintage Patriotic Ribbons do not disappoint!

Nautical Themed Accordion Folio: A Ribbon Frame

Use the Chevron Striped Ribbon to create a ribbon frame for this 6 1/2″ square accordion folio cover. Simply  attach the ribbon to a paper frame with 1/4″ Scor-Tape.  I did miter the corners, but you don’t really need to.  Placing buttons in the corners makes everything look neat and tidy.   Scarlet Delicate Stitched Satin topped with Natural Burlap String makes a lovely bow.  Th e ribbon closure for the folio is made with Light Navy Delicate Stitched Satin.

Add a snippet of the Vintage Patriotic Swiss Dots Ribbon to the spine.  The add more beach themed charms.

Nautical Themed Accordion Folio: A Peek Inside

Here’s a look at the interactive elements tucked inside this accordion style folio.  I’ve added pockets, mini folios and flap pages, banners, tags, and tip in pages.

This ribbon collection could not be a more perfect match for the Authentique Voyage papers!

On With the Hop

Your next stop on the hop is Cherry’s  sweet blog.  After you take a look at her paper pretties, hop on over to the RRR BLOG to answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month. Then you’ll be entered into the drawing for a free May Ribbon Club Assortment.

If you’re not a subscriber to the Monthly Ribbon Club, now is a great time to join.  You can find out all about it and sign up HERE.

Enjoy the hop!

Cheerio,

kathy

You’re right, Kathy…these ribbons and papers are made for each other. This accordion fold design makes this a great summer home decor piece. Add some pictures and journaling about a seaside vacation and it becomes a great conversation piece, too. I especially like the assortment of charms that add a special touch. tfs-Hugs. Stay well.

Hello my beautiful friend!!! Friends make eachother happy, and that is what you do when I look at all your projects. As soon as I saw this post it put a huge smile on my face. I wanted to call you “magic hands”. LOL!, but no! You have “Blessed Hands” that help you make such awesome projects, such as this fabulous folio. You think of everything and make each project soooo special! Thank you for the inspiration, my friend!!!

Kathy, what a delightful folio! You know I love all things nautical. The RRR ribbons are so perfect with this paper collection and what a wonderful idea to use the ribbon as a frame. This will also make a wonderful Independence day folio! Your interactive elements are so fun and I LOVE your nautical charms! I especially like the seahorse and nautilus. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

WOW! is my first reaction…LOVE THE COVER AND SPINE OF THIS “SEE” WORTHY PROJECT!! I spent yesterday researching Pinterest for nautical/sea themed cards. Though I don’t happen to own this paper collection, I am inspired by all the elements you have pulled together. Just look at all those wonderful charms! That tiny bottle of sand, complete with a tiny shell, makes this card for me…the perfect embellishment for this project. Very clever ribbon frame…buttons at the corners bring a smile. Really well done!!

The layers?!?! I do love the ocean although not a nautical fan, this has changed my mind. I do love what you have done with the details down to the little bottle of sand. Hope you get to enjoy the beach. We can go as long as we practice social distancing. 🙂 Stay well.

Love this Kathy. Do you have a video of one like this that I can follow the process? I’m surely not good at looking at a project and making it. I need measurements, then I can go on from there. I need a starting help. hehehehe. Be safe & TYFS
