Graphic 45 Night Before Christmas Book Box
Hello, Friends! I am so excited to share today’s project with you. When I was a little girl, my mother had me memorize Clement Clark Moore’s classic poem, “A Visit From St. Nicholas.” It was part of our holiday ritual to recite it together, all the way from “Twas the Night Before Christmas” all the way to the triumphant ending. We would act it out as we spoke the lines with great drama and grand gestures. It’s one of my favorite Christmas memories. So when one of my Etsy customers asked me to make her something special with Santa Claus on the cover, I reached for my Graphic 45 “Night Before Christmas” paper collection and 3″ x 5″ book box with tags. Oh, what fun!
I knew I wanted to create a snow globe on the cover and did this using some old Spellbinder’s packaging and dies.
The spine is decorated with festive miniature ornaments, ribbon and silver charms.
The inside…well, let’s just say I had a ton of fun with this one. I painted miniature wreathes, Christmas trees and used foam dots to create loads of depth and dimension for my fussy cut figures. I also added some fake snow to the base of my tree.
Here’s a closer look at the wreath, topped with red satin ribbon and a trio of jingle bells.
And a better look at my jolly Santa who has a very sparkly beard!
The body of the box is filled with 3 Graphic 45 Staples ATC tags that I decorated with papers, brads, and ribbon.
I used the 8″ x 8″ so tat the scale of the patterns would be right for the size of the project.
This Night Before Christmas Book Box was pure fun to make. I hope you have visions of sugarplums as you dream tonight!
Thanks for stopping by!
I would love to have this, but I bet it sold within an hour of putting it out. It’s extra special and I wish had known that you were going to do a Christmas one. But I haven’t sent much time on the computer lately. Getting ready for Christmas!
Excellent project, looks amazing. Reminds me of that story, t’was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…
