I’ll also introduce you to the scrumptious patterns, colors and images in this lovely springtime collection. The easel cards we will make together can easily be used as home decor. Can I just say up front, there is nothing like a Dame! Just wait until you see how drop dead gorgeous these papers are!
Authentique Dame Easel Cards Tutorials #1: Beautiful Dame Twisted Easel Card
See? I told you this collection was gorgeous! This is a 6″ x 6″ Twisted Easel Card. It looks complicated, doesn’t it? But the truth of the matter is that you can make this splashy card with two simple score lines! How great is that?
Like all easel cards, this one folds (sort of) flat for mailing. I created the card with a 1/2″ spine to help it close over the dimensional interior.
This style of easel card really works well for home decor and display.
This dimensional “stopper” allows the folded base to stand upright. These gorgeous roses are Little Birdie Crafts Rosalind Candy Assortment. I tossed in some of my homemade Prills to add extra texture to the flower cluster.
As always, I decorated the interior of the card.
I even added a little gift card pocket.

Authentique Dame Easel Cards Tutorials #2: Springtime in Paris Standard Upright Easel Card
So you’ve seen the Dame collection used to make a super shabby chic card. But this Springtime in Paris Upright Easel card has more of a fresh, Retro feel to it. I think this 5″ x 7″ beauty would be super card for graduation, to celebrate a new job, or any major life achievement.
This side image demonstrates how the easel fold mechanism works. This is honestly one of the easiest fancy fold cards you can make. I think once you make one of these, you will want to make dozens! I know I do!
Every easel card needs a reliable stopper. I’ll share how to make this layered dimensional stopper in the video. And I also share some of the basic design guidelines that I try to build into my compositions. I hope you’ll find it helpful.
You’ll also learn how to amp up your card design with dimensional layers. I share some neat tricks for doing this in the video as well.
And of course, we will decorate the interior of the card!

ah oh – you better be careful with these EXCELLENT tutorials. If you keep teaching me how to make these, you’re going to lose an Etsy customer for your marvelous work (LOL – just kidding!). These two cards are delightful – and I found your videos extremely informative…I do believe if I didn’t have even a CLUE about paper crafting, I could follow it perfectly.
Thanks again for another day of inspiration and eye candy!
Absolutely beautiful!!!
