Nuts About Fall Easel Card with Amazing Paper Grace October 2021 Die of the Month
Hello, Friends! Are you Nuts About Fall? I sure am, especially when I get to work with cute squirrel images, gorgeous plaids and the fabulous Amazing Paper Grace October 2021 Die of the Month. What a grand time I had pairing this gorgeous die up with papers from the Country Craft Creations Autumn Orchard Paper Collection.
Simple Layers and Sumptuous Embellishments
Although this card looks complicated, it’s actually very simple to pull together.
- First, create a 7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ easel card base from kraft cardstock.
- Next, mat a 5 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ panel of the vintage truck foliage on a slightly larger panel of chocolate brown cardstock.
- Then mat a 6 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ panel of the autumn plaid pattern on a slightly larger panel of the same chocolate brown paper.
- Now mat all these layers onto a 7 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ panel of copper metallic cardstock.
- Next cut the squirrel image from the 8×8 cut apart page and mat on chocolate brown and copper layers. Back with a double layer of dimensionals and set aside.
- Then die cut the APG DOM from copper metallic cardstock. YOu will use just the filigree frame.
- Now die cut the center oval from the inside piece that was left from die cutting the frame. Set this aside.
- Finally, arrange all the pieces as seen in the photo with pretty fall flowers, string bows, fall leaves and Printed Beautiful Board from Reneabouquets. (Links below.)
Finishing Details
Every easel card needs a brake, or a stopper that holds the easel portion of the card upright. I like to use the interior pocket for this purpose. Decorate it with the die cut center oval and more pretty flowers and a felt pumpkin.
A Peek Inside
You can see here how the pocket doubles as the brake for the easel. I tucked in a little blank sentiment panel and an autumn tea bag to elevate the card to gift status.

So Nuts about Fall and about this gorgeous card!! Hope you are enjoying the weather as it is cooling off. It is still quite warm here, but I am so looking forward to my cups of tea on the deck soon!!
Acornsandsquirrels…isn’t that all one word? Ha! Ha! Couldn’t resist. Those “tree rats,” as I’ve heard them termed, are always so entertaining…I love to watch them joyously conquering a bird feeder! While I was a fulltime nanny for my 3 grands, they had names for a trio of squirrels that lived in the tall pine trees in their backyard. We would put out roasted peanuts…once buried, nothing would grow, but squirrels would be fed. Thanks for reminding me of these wonderful memories…years gone by. I like the orange flowers you’ve chosen. Stay healthy!
Kathy, a truly beautiful Autumn card…love the Autumn Orchard Paper collection. The colors are so rich and vibrant. What you’ve done using these papers and the die of the month is so inspiring. tfs-stay well. Hugs.
Temperatures are more like Fall now up here on Vancouver Island. Dew is almost frost like some mornings. Acorns are falling from all the oak trees that are around here and you have to be careful walking under one in case you get one in the head, and that hurts! Love the fall colours and when the sun shines it’s amazing outside. 🙂 Great project Kathy, I can smell the pumpkin spice!!!
Gorgeous Kathy! I am so in love with Fall this year and these colours! More inspiration for me! Thanks to you!
Beautiful card Kathy!!! You always seem to put everything together in just the right manner – love everything about it.
Yup, you did it again! You made another gorgeous card with sweet little squirrels (I love squirrels), that gorgeous blue truck image and all of the flowers and the APG die! I’m telling you, I still think you either craft in your sleep or you have elves helping you. Love you lots, my friend! Hugs xoxo
Wow, Kathy, what a gorgeous Fall card! That die of the month is one of the most elegant yet. The flowers, acorns and leaves on the front are so lovely and I really like the contrast of the dark blue sentiment with their Autumn colors. And how sweet are those darling little squirrels? This will make a lovely display card for the Season. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
Awwww!!! This easel “Fall” card is another beauty! And this month’s DOM die is gorgeous! Luv how you decorated it with all the beautiful leaves and acorns! And luv that truck paper and those flowers! This “Fall” card is definitely another show stopper! Just amazing! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Suzy Q
Oh Kathy, I am nuts for the copper paper and those Reneabouquets embellishments are to die for! Another score of 20 out of 10 for this project (really exquisite fall card)!!! And you have me hankering for some Orange/Cinnamon tea – Is the pot on?
