Precious Baby Boy Card

Precious Baby Boy Card for Crafty Secrets

Hello, Friends!

I have such a precious baby boy card to share with you today.  I was looking through my Crafty Secrets stash and found some goodies I had forgotten I had.  In no time flat, I had worked up this cute card for a new baby boy.

Precious Baby Boy Card/Kathy by DesignOoooh…don’t you just want to kiss that sweet baby head?  The image is taken from the Baby Boy Image and Clear Art Stamp set.  Here’s a peeky at what you get with this set.  Oh, and ignore the price…it is now on sale for just $4.95!

Imagine…you could make 18 cards with this kit!  I did the math, peeps, and that is just 28 cents per card.  Talk about a great deal!

I cut out my focal image and then inked the edges with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  I matted it with some pale blue cardstock and stamped some of the images from the stamp kit, also using Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  The “Little Champ” charm was heat embossed with UTEE and then added to the right hand side of the focal image. And that sentiment, “Don’t wake me, I’ll wake you…”  isn’t that the truth?

Crafty Secrets Baby Boy Card 05I built a 5×7 top fold card base and covered it with a 4.75″ x 6.75″ panel of the new Birds and Blooms Paper Kit, choosing the Blue Wood with Birds pattern.  Before gluing it down, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Spellbinder’s Brick and Bark embossing folder.  I inked the embossing side with Stormy Sky and weathered wood inks before running the paper through.  This impressed the blue ink right into the paper, creating great texture and color contrast.

I created a belly band with a 5″ x 3.5″ strip of the blue script paper from the Creating with Vintage Typography CD.  I layered this with 1.5″ white netting and Blue Topaz Swiss Dots Ribbon.  A triple loop bow was tied and topped with a vintage pearl button.  Die cuts were added to the corners and under the focal imageMagnolia blossoms were lightly inked with Stormy Sky and then a loopy string bow was glued in underneath them.

Crafty Secrets Baby Boy Card 04The interior of the card uses more of the blue script paper, and some sentiment stamps from a now retired set.  I’m sure Sandy will be releasing these in digital form soon.

Snake and snails, and puppy dog tails, that’s what little boys are made of.  But this Precious Baby Boy card is mighty sweet, don’t you agree?

Thanks for stopping by,

Cheerio,

kathy

What an adorable card! Blue can be a really cold colour, but this card is warm and yummy, and so inviting. It draws you into it, makes you smile and then nestles itself into your heart. (Very much like my Grandson).
I can see those images being great in a scrapbook too!

Oh my, this card is so very sweet. The baby reminds me a little of the original Gerber baby (my favorite) and the sentiment couldn’t be truer. Thank, Kathy!
