Prima Darcelle Floral Typewriter Card

Hello Friends!  I’m popping in very quickly today to share this Prima Darcelle Floral Typewriter card with you.  If you love purple, you’re going to love this card!  It’s layered up with richly patterned papers, fussy cuts, ephemera pieces, die cuts and loads of pretty purple flowers.

Prima Darcelle Floral Typewriter Card: Go Big or Go Home

Most of the cards I make are 5″ x 7″ top fold cards.  But the patterns and images from the 12×12 Darcelle collection are BIG…so I had to go big or go home with this card base.  The card  base measures a chunky 6 1/2″ x 7 1/2″  This gave me lots of room to layer in lots of the beautiful collection elements.

TIP: Place dimensionals between card layers to separate patterns and create lots of depth and dimension.

TIP: Die cut a card layer from white cardstock to break up all the intense color.  Because this die cut layer was not wide enough to completely frame my main image, I cut it in half and then adhered it behind the main panel.

TIP: Frame the focal image with corner bow clusters and the die cut piece.  This helps it to stand out from all the other layers.

Prima Darcelle Floral Typewriter Card: A Peek Inside

There’s plenty of room inside for a pair of treat pockets.

Tuck in a journal card, chocolate, tea bag and honey stick.  Now you’ve just turned this lovely card into a gift.

How are you all holding up?  Keeping busy?  Staying positive?  I’ve been swamped in the studio with special orders for my Etsy shop.  I’m also working on my next kit release for The Button Farm Club.  So no time to be bored or blue here.  As long as I have paper, flowers and ribbon, I’m good!

I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Such a lovely card, Kathy. The purple and blue color combo is so rich (at least that’s how the colors show on my computer screeen (lol). Sounds as if you’re very busy crafting…can’t wait to see what you’re creating for the Button Farm Club. As for me, some working from home is giving me a bit more time to craft. tfs-Hugs. Stay well.

It’s all about the layers. I love the colours, the inside is lovely and the things you stuff inside 🙂 Chocolate!!!!! It is definitely different times out there for sure, what would normally take you 20 minutes in a grocery store, is taking an hour due to lines. My life really hasn’t changed much, I am retired so home is where I like to be anyway. I have a yard to look after and a garden to plant so I am not bored. I also have my dogs and without them, well, I probably would be feeling this more, but we are good. Much love to you Kathy. Stay well. Stay creative.

Kathy, this is such a pretty card! Your layering effects are just beautiful. You have a fantastic knack for knowing just where to put your elements to show off the main feature of your card. I love those purples. It was my Mom’s favorite color. I really enjoy reading all of the tips that you give us along the way. Very helpful! So glad you are keeping busy and creating such beautiful things. Thank you for sharing this beauty and stay well! Hugs!
