Prima Darcelle Hello Friendship Card Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  If you are a fan of the color purple, I think you’re going to enjoy this Prima Darcelle Hello Friendship Card Folio.  This frilly, fancy card is all dressed up with luscious ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon February Club Assortment.  I’ve had such a good time with these pretty ribbons this month, and I had just enough of the Light Orchid Diamond Satin to make just one more poufy bow!

Purples can be  hard to match, so I used lots of different shades in this fancy card.

A bit of gold metallic string tucked into the bow cluster picks up on the gold foil accents in the flower centers,  paper and washi tape border.

A Peek Inside

I love to find ways to use ribbon inside my cards, too. Light Orchid  Swiss Dots Satin serves as a closure for the flap page on the top half of the card.  And look at all the yummy chocolate in the pocket!

TIP:  To make the flap page, cut the patterned paper wider than the base of the card.  I added 3 1/4″ to the 5″ base so that I could add a sneaky hidden tea back pocket behind the flap.

Along with the chocolates, honey stick and post card in the pocket, I created this sweet bookmark.  (Yes…I am learning how to make my own tassels!  Woo-hoo!) Stitch bits and bobs of patterned paper onto a canvas rectangle, then fringe the canvas for a pretty homespun look.

How you do feel about purple?  I find myself liking this sophisticated, regal color more and more all the time.  I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Since this pandemic started, and us old folks have been advised to stay home, I have come to really appreciate telephone images! I like the more vintage images with character and personality…cell phone shapes lack interest. I finally allowed myself to create flat flowers to embellish the focal point phone images…easier, and cheaper, to mail…don’t have to go into a post office to weigh standard envelopes. This is such a lovely card. I barely remember this paper collection…works well for this card. I like that thin gold string bow…really adds to the sophisticated beauty of this card. Well done, Kathy!

It’s all about the layers, that of which I have not mastered yet, same as collage. Love the colour and all the shades, another masterpiece Kathy!

Oh Kathy, I love the nostalgia of the phone on the front of this card! When I was a little girl I would call my Grandmother so much that I even remember her phone number to this day. Back then we talked on “real” phones. LOL This is such a lovely paper collection. I absolutely love purple and the way you have mixed the different shades. It was my mother’s favorite color. Your flowers and ribbons are gorgeous and I love the way you designed the inside. The sentiments are perfect. Thank you for sharing! Hugs
