Prima Fruit Paradise  Shaker Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Do you do this?  Say, “I’m not going to buy any more paper.”  Then you see a paper that speaks to something deep in your memory and brings you joy.  And then the paper falls into your shopping cart.  Yeah.  That.  But it’s all good, because now I have this Prima Fruit Paradise Shaker Card made with Really Reasonable Ribbon to share with you today.  See?  Things usually work out for the best when you listen to the little voice in your head!

Doesn’t this just look like summer on paper?  This 6″ x 6″ easel shaker card is adorned with Bright Pink Plaid Ribbon and a teeny tiny snippet of Hot Pink Satin with a metallic edge.  Gorgeous Fruit Paradise Papers, Flowers, Laserowe Love Chipboard and sparkly sequins add to the delicious fruit salad going on here.

Here’s a fun little embellishment you can make in a jiffy:

  • Find a paperclip.  This one is gold, but you could use pink or white and it would still look great.
  • Cut fishtail banner ends on a scrap of ribbon.  This one is about 2″ long.
  • Now loop the ribbon between the legs of the paper clip.  Add a dot of hot glue to hold it in place.
  • Then thread a wee vintage button and hot glue on top.

Cute, right?

The stopper on this card is the cascade of flowers.  I also tucked in the center from a crocheted doily to add more texture.  And Gold Metallic String adds just the right touch of shimmer to my bow cluster.

The inside is simple and sweet with just enough room to add a little note.  This is pretty enough to be used as table decor at a summer party.

I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas that you can use in your own crafty adventures.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

    Hi Kathy,
Love shaker cards – yours is beautiful. I’m so hooked on paper and flowers. Thanks for link to Really Reasonable Ribbon! I appreciate knowing where a good source is for paper, ribbon and flowers – makes for more goodies. I am still smiling from looking at your card and enjoying a good time viewing your prior blogs. Thanks for sharing with your fans. I am so excited waiting for Becca’s new DOM – like waiting for Christmas morning!

Just had to laugh at your comment about buying paper–I’ve made too many resolutions like that one to count! It’s a crafting phenomenon–paper just hops into our carts/hands! The result of your buy is delightful. I’m going to a family picnic in a few weeks so this has inspired me for creating a summer easel card that will make a great piece of summer home decor afterwards. tfs

Love the floral cluster on the front of this card. So many textures and shapes! BOY! Do I know what you mean about seeing that collection that just has to be in my inventory! A sure sign that a particular collection has captured my creative soul is when I’m not willing to wait for a sale price, that I must have this collection in my hands ASAP! And when I ever do find a sale, I have to invest in multiple packs because I know this collection won’t be available next year and I have so many projects already lined up in creative brain! My family, friends and customers don’t care about the age of the paper collection I have used to make a beautiful card or mini album. Uh oh! One of these days, I’m going to have to increase the value of my insurance to be sure to cover my inventory…………….

    Hi, kathy,
Right now in “sunny, Southern California” we’re experiencing “June gloom”-with seemingly endless grey skies. This card is just what I needed to lift my spirits. I can’t see cherries without feeling happy! (So delicious to eat and so good for you!) The sequins match the cherries perfectly and what great details with the trellis, paper and ribbon. I’ve never made a shaker easel card but I think there may be one in my future… Thank you for this great inspiration!
(hey, I just saw a smiley face on the bottom of the wallpaper on this screen – is that your doing?)
    Love & blessings, Sandy

Kathy – I will say it again – what an amazing talent you have – love the paper but it’s your heart and hands that makes it all come alive – just an awesome card!!!

What a beautiful, summery creation! Paper is also my weakness, and I had my eye on this collection. I didn’t have to buy it though because I was fortunate enough to win the 12×12 paper with three packs of of flowers in a You Tube draw. How awesome is that?!! I love the trellis shaker made with the chipboard piece. I’m pretty sure you could create a shaker with anything! Hope your day is as bright and sunny as is this card. Hugs from Kentucky.

Love this! And yes, you are right…sometimes papers and collections just fall in our basket..as happened to me at a great Scrapbooking store recently, in a visit to Springfield, Missouri. I kinda went overboard!

Kathy, I wish I had a nickle for every time I said I’m not going to buy any more paper. LOL This card is absolutely scrumptious! What eye candy! And oh how I love that lattice covering. That always adds such beautiful dimension to a card no matter how you use it. This is stunning around your shaker window. Your ribbon, buttons, flowers and shaker elements are just perfection! Well, I see another paper collection in my future. Thank you for sharing this lovely creation! Hugs!

This shaker card is darling! I adore the colors and the gingham ribbon you used. Love the white die cut background. It’s a lovely trellis effect with those beautiful flowers.
