Pumpkin Butterfly Bouquet Card Folio

Reneabouquets Pumpkin Blue Fern Studio Bird Waltz by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon Photo 01

Pumpkin Butterfly Bouquet Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  I’m one of those folks that loves pumpkin everything, but I’m especially fond of this Pumpkin Butterfly Bouquet Card Folio.  Copper and autumn and pumpkins and acorns and butterflies and fall flowers just belong together.

You know how a really good autumn stew combines a bunch of different ingredients to create the perfect bite?  Well, I sort of used that same approach when putting this project together. The cover of this 7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ folio features Copper and Cream plaid ribbon.  It’s one of my favorites for fall because of the warmth it brings to a composition.  It  picks up all the lovely tawny hues the Blue Fern Bird Waltz paper that I used on this card.

The delicate swirled layer behind my floral pumpkin patch is created with Spellbinders Merry Filigree Card Making die.  Cut from copper foiled cardstock, it lends elegance and subtle shine to the background.

The Pumpkin Patch

Reneabouquets swept me off my feet with this Autumn Beauty Pumpkin.  Fall flowers around the base serve as an anchor.  Pumpkin Spice Butterflies flit lazily in this end of season flower garden.

TIP: Brush acorns with copper metallic paint, then cozy them up to the copper and cream ribbon and burlap string bow cluster.

A Surprise Inside

One of the things I love the most about this time of year is fall baking.  After a long, steamy summer, it’s really fun to take the chill off the house by baking some pumpkin goodies.

So I created a hidden recipe card pocket on the top of this card.  Copper and cream plaid ribbon makes a pretty closure.  Pumpkin bread is one of my favorite fall treats, so I tucked a recipe for it in the pocket, along with 2 blank recipe cards.  This way the recipient can add their favorite fall recipes, too.  And if you’re going to bake pumpkin bread, you really should have a cuppa!  So a little packet of honey, a demitasse spoon, and a tea and chocolate wallet fill the box pocket on the bottom.  Have you discovered yet how delicious chocolate is with pumpkin?  You really should give it a try!

What’s your favorite fall baked good?  I’d love to hear about it in the comment section below.

Wow! So much to love about this folio, Kathy! First off, it’s a folio filled with those goodies and your recipe. Secondly, your arrangement topping that gorgeous delicate copper die cut! And, of course, pumpkins! I love anything pumpkin, too, and my favorite fall baked item is pumpkin roll; recipe on the can of Libby’s pumpkin. I bet your home smells delicious! Hugs!

Ohhhh Wow!!! This definitely a Fall Explosion of color …and I luv it!!! Are those acorns real? Luv the touch of copper on them …and luv how you used that beautiful die, again! Luv the ribbon and just everything else, Kathy! Inside is spectacular too!!! Definitely cute idea for a special recipe. I don’t think I have ever tasted a good Pumpkin Bread! Sorry …I gave up on them ages ago! My real favorite is homemade Zucchini Bread …fresh out of the oven with soft creamy butter!!! Yum!!! Thanks for sharing this beauty! Big hugs, Suzy Q

Happy Autumn, Kathy! Well, you certainly delighted all our senses…the rich vibrant colors, the textures and we can almost hear the wind rustling through the leaves and smell the aroma of fresh-baked goodies from the oven and a hot cuppa. You absolutely nailed this one! I love the hidden recipe pocket…once again you have provided me with wonderful inspiration!

Your use of Fall splendor is so beautiful on this project, Kathy! All the warmth of the colors makes that tea truly inviting. REAL ACORNS!! YES! Haven’t found any in my local area…still trying to come up with a use for those annoying cottonwood seeds that look like summer snow. Ha! Ha! I’ve never used metallic paints, but that copper looks beautiful on the acorns. The warm Fall colors in your ribbon inventory are so pleasing on the eyes. Burlap string fits in beautifully. Can you tell that I like this project?!? I love the design engineering of this particular folio…definitely will be coming back to this posting for future projects. My hot cocoa packets have arrived…box is beautiful but inside are very plain “industrial” packets…suffice it to say, I’ll be employing your wrapping technique when these packets get tucked into my cards. Thanks for inspiring me to do this, Kathy…much appreciated!!

Gorgeous card, Kathy!! It has everything AND the kitchen sink – you filled this to the brim, and I love all the coppery rich tones – stunning. I love pumpkin and banana bread, and I always make tons of pizzelles (no anise, but usually add finely crushed pecans). My son and daughter-in-law always take lots to work to share with fellow employees.

I love this! I believe its one of my favorites. I do have a question, do you ever mail your cards or put them in envelopes – a box envelope I presume. I often think I want to mail a card such as one of your beautiful designs, but I was curious as to how you present a card to a family/friend ? Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations with us.

Gena said it all! I am so in love with this at first sight! I have so many papers, card stock, pumpkins etc., in my stash I can use this as a guide to make a delightful gift. My sister-in-law has been baking and keeping us happy with her pumpkin bread…I need the recipe, too. Maybe I should make it for her…she would be thrilled. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, Kathy! What a riot of Fall color in this gorgeous creation! I love that you can look at this and see something new every time. That filigree die backdrop is stunning. You are the absolute undisputed Queen of layering and embellishment placement! And I love the way you did the inside to open up and reveal a yummy recipe for pumpkin bread. I do love pumpkin bread. It is definitely one of my favorites along with gingerbread and shortbread cookies for Fall baking. Thank you for sharing this beauty! Hugs!

I am in love with the Becca Feeken die set – certainly you have proved it can certainly be used for more than Christmas! And oh how beautiful is the color palette for this stunning folio. So cute the hidden recipe pocket!! This folio is my all time favorite as it hits all the marks inside: a recipe and all the makings for a wonderful cuppa. Only problem – waiting for the pumpkin bread to come out of the oven before you can sit down and enjoy it with your cuppa!
