I chose to create a masculine card using the luxurious Black Checkerboard Satin Ribbon and Black Argyle Print Grosgrain Ribbon.

Kathy by Design/Times Nouveau Masculine CardThese ribbons work so well with the Graphic 45 Times Nouveau papers!  The argyle design matches the era, and the black checkerboard satin pops against the deep vintage reds and golds.  I layered up papers, chipboard, and some fussy cut images and added in some images from Graphic 45’s “A Proper Gentleman” too.

RRR Blog Hop Black and White 02I found this great vintage leather button in my button stash.  I get so excited when I find just the right topper for my bows.  And I love the way the car looks like it’s driving right off the card.  I did that by matting it onto black cardstock and adding a double layer of foam dots to the center. Then I just glued the edges down.  It creates great dimension!

RRR Blog Hop Black and White 04The inside of this 5″ x 7″ top fold card contains a pocket that is the perfect spot to stash a tag, tickets, or cash gift.  I stamped my tag in a chalkboard style using a variety of stamps that I pulled out of my stash.  Some are Tim Holtz, some are Fiskars.

RRR Blog Hop Black and White 05I tore the bottom edge off the tag and added it to the side.  I like the rustic look this gives the tag, and I like the little touch of black on the card interior.

OK…now it’s time for you to go be inspired by the amazing Cherry at her Cherry’s Jubilee Blog. Remember to visit all the blogs on the hop, then answer Bonnie’s question of the month, and you will be entered to win your very own July Ribbon Club assortment!

Thanks for stopping by!

I love how you manage to get so many layers and embellishments on your cards and it never looks crowded. Great tip with car and using extra foam in the middle You certainly manage the men’s card with ease. Hope the weather has cooled a bit for you my friend, we’ve had rain again all day. X
