Really Reasonable Ribbon December 2021 Blog Hop: Welcome Winter Tea Party in a Box Folio
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon December 2021 Blog Hop! You should be coming here from Ginny’s beautiful blog. The Winter Wonderland Ribbon Assortment is extra beautiful. Of course, I’m biased, because blue is my favorite color!
Welcome Winter Tea Party in a Box Folio
Remember the excitement of a snow day when you were a kid? Bundle up with mittens, scarves, hats and heavy winter coats. Tug on winter boots. Then go outside and play until you are frozen to the bone! I tried to capture all the fun and excitement of a day frolicking in the snow in this little flip folio.
Snowy white Satin Ribbon with a Grosgrain Edge captures the feeling of a snow day. I’ve topped this with some Blue Roses and White Cosmos Daisies. (Links below the post.)
Create a ribbon closure with Winter Swirls in Ink Blue Satin Ribbon. Heat emboss chipboard to decorate the spine. Then adhere a sparkly cabochon jewel in the center. Attach a series of charms to the top of the spine with Silver Metallic String for the perfect finishing touch.
A Peek Inside
I’ve used ribbon in several ways inside the folio. First, use Snowflake Satin as a ribbon closure for a fun accordion style pull out folio.
Each page in the folio measures 4 3/4″ square, so you can easily fit in 4×4 photos.
Cut pages a little wider than the width of the folio base so you can add cute flap elements.
Remember to leave some journaling spots, too!
There are 10 fold out panels in the folio. The back page is a little pocket with a journal card tuck in.
Time for Tea!
Create a box pocket in the center of the folio. Then fill it with a selection of wintry treats.
Dress up your treats with scraps of designer paper. Punch a hole in the top of the honey pouch packet, then tie a bow with the Cross Stitch Zig Zag Satin from the assortment. Once the treats have been enjoyed, the pocket is a great place to store photos.
On With the Hop!
Now hop on over and see what paper pretties Cheryl has is store for you. Be sure to finish up over on the RRR BLOG. Once you’re there, you can answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month and enter the drawing for a FREE Ribbon Club Assortment.
If you’re not a member of the Club yet, now is a great time to join. You can tell Santa that you’ve been a very good girl this year, and that’s what you want for Christmas! Every month you’ll receive a beautiful selection of themed ribbons in your mailbox. How fun! Find out how to sign up HERE.

Beautiful spine treatment!! All these lovely winter ribbons are used beautifully to complete your project. Winter really is here! Our Pacific NW mountains are covered in a couple feet of the white stuff…skiers and snowboarders are ditching work and school for some winter fun. We may have some valley snow by the end of the week. I so enjoy winter paper collections…I can enjoy snow without having it pile up outside my door…memories of growing up in harsh mid-west winters.
Ah the snow days – what a great theme and beautiful folio– I spy chocolate = peppermint bark oh a favorite for sure – and caramel, and dark chocolate – need I say more?? YUM = what a festive piece of art Kathy – you are so grand at doing these type of projects – lovely ribbon and I always love those charms! Merry CHRISTmas and Happy New Year!
Oh my goodness Kathy …this is the first I’ve seen of this months RRR ribbons! They are just gorgeous! And WOW! They go gorgeously with your card creation!!! I just luv the colors you’ve used for this card! So beautiful and that sweet little girl …luv every detail! Lol! I think this one is my favorite!!! Lol! I know I’ve said that before… I just can’t help it! Thanks so much for sharing this creation!!! I gotta check out the rest of these pretty’s. Hug, Suzy Q
I am so in love with everything on that cover! Beginning with that very different plaid background…so subtle, but so fitting. You nailed it beautifully with the ribbons, the flowers, and that love little girl that brings it all together. And yes, i loved the outdoors in the winter, pulling my brothers over the snow on the sled, and then enjoying it all over again with my own children…and how I miss doing all of that now, at 82! Thanks for making my day!
This folio is stunningly beautiful and the colors are spectacular, inspiring the thought of a cold winter snow storm. The sweet embellishments, sparkly snowman and pretty charms on the spine make for an absolutely enchantingly, beguiling combination! I ask you: “Is there a prettier winter color combination than dark blue and highlights of silver and white?” This winter folio is perfectly wintery but sweetly warmed by the inside surprises. Oh remember how wonderfully warm that hot chocolate (and marshmallows) our Mothers gave us, when we came inside because we no longer could feel our feet and/or hands, were?! Again thanks for invoking those wonderful memories, Kathy! I may not have snow; but I do have ingredients for some hot chocolate…….
Kathy, you really showed those ribbons off amazingly!! I am a Blue Girl and I just love this with those Royal Blues and Winter Theme. Once again, my heart has been stolen by your art!! Here is to a nice, peaceful Winter and a Happy New Year!!
Amazing and beautiful as usual. Merry Christmas!
Beautiful folio Kathy, just beautiful. You sure can stuff a lot into this one! Really like the papers. Thank you for the eye candy on the stormy Monday morning.
