Really Reasonable Ribbon July 2020 Blog Hop

Hello, Friends! Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon July 2020 Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Karen’s lovely blog.   If so, you are right on track.  You can find a complete blog hop list on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog in case you are lost.

This month the Seashore Ribbon Club Assortment features aqua and coral beach themed ribbons.  Just my style!

Sparkling Seahorse Beach Folio

These lovely ribbons are a great playmate for Authentique Paper’s Voyage Paper Collection.  Since I love the beach, and I love making little folios, I decided to create an interactive trifold folio featuring these beautiful ribbons.

The 5″ x 5″ x 1 1/2″ folio base is created by joining together 12″ x 5″ strips of cardstock.  Then I simply scored at 5″, 6 1/2″, 11 1/2″, 12″ and 16 3/4″.

TIP: Create a ribbon frame for the album’s focal image.  Attach 3/8″ Coral and Starfish Grosgrain from the Ribbon Assortment with 1/4″ Scor-Tape.  Adhere buttons in the corners.

TIP: Hidden pockets are fun!  Stitch 3 sides of the 3″ x 4″ seahorse life card to the folio front.  Leave the right hand edge open to form a cute tag pocket.  Top the tag with burlap string and a charm.

TIP: Ribbon makes a great closure for a folio! Attach the 5/8″ Seashell Print Satin from the Club Assortment with 1/2″ Scor-Tape before you add your paper layers.  Be sure to leave the ends long enough to tie a nice, poufy bow.

TIP: Add a quick and easy mixed media finish to Reneabouquets Seahorse and Starfish Beautiful board.  Tap with Versamark Embossing Ink, then heat emboss with WOW Vintage Champagne Embossing Powder.

The Album Spine

Create a triple loop bow with the Blue Variegated Shell Print Ribbon from the Club Assortment.  Top this with a Natural Burlap String Bow and a Little Birdie Flower.

Decorate the spine with a sticker from the paper collection.  Then create a charm dangle with Natural Burlap String.

A Peek Inside

I love to use ribbon inside a folio, too!  It makes a great topper for little tags!

And it really comes in handy when used as a closure for interactive mechanisms!

Isn’t this 3/8″ wide coral reef grosgrain pretty?

Keep a waterfall feature from flapping open with another piece of the Seashell Satin Print Ribbon.

To help you see how all the mechanisms and folds work together I’ve created a little video tour on YouTube.

On With the Hop

Now hop on over and see what crafty inspiration Cherry has for you today.   Be sure to finish up the hop over on the RRR Blog. Answer Bonnie’s question of the month to be entered into a drawing for a free July 2020 Ribbon Club Assortment.

If you’re not subscribed to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club yet, now is a great time to join.  Bonnie has a great deal for new subscribers.  I look forward each month to receiving my ribbon club.  Its always fun to look for papers that match the club assortment each month.  It’s like getting a birthday present in the mail every month of the year.

Est très magnifique! All those ribbons and colors really inspired you and brought out your love for the ocean and beaches. I do hope you get an opportunity to get there this summer. As usual your folio is perfection and video is so well done. Another triumph Kathy.

LOVE your spine treatment!! Nice choice to make the front cover seahorse a stark contrast to the colors of the ribbons…males that seahorse jump right off the cover! Beautifully designed and crafted!

Kathy, I am almost at a loss for words! This folio is over the top stunning. Every image, every embellishment, every paper is absolute perfection. I LOVE seahorses. They are such magical, mysterious little creatures and the one on the front is gorgeous! I really like the background there. I have seen ripples in the sand on the beach that it reminds me of. Well you have outdone yourself on this beauty. Thank you so much for sharing and for making the video! Hugs!
