Red Roses and Ribbon True Love Folio for the RRR Blog Hop
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! This Red Roses and Ribbon True Love Folio is my inspiration piece for the Really Reasonable Ribbon January Blog hop. You should be coming here from Ginny’s gorgeous blog. “Be My Valentine” is the name of this month’s beautiful Ribbon Club Assortment.
You really can’t go wrong with so many beautiful ribbons to choose from! But for this 6×6 folio, the 5/8″ Poppy Red Satin with a Grosgrain Edge fit the bill perfectly! Because this ribbon is soft and silky, it ties beautiful bows!
It also works great as a border when layered with the 3/8″ White Satin with Red Dots ribbon from the collection.
TIP: Add interest to a floral cluster with Beaded Berry Stamens. Simply tuck them in filler with your red roses.
True Love Shaker Frame
Here’s how I turned this Reneabouquets Beautiful Laser Cut Frame into a Shaker Element.
- First, heat emboss the frame with Versamark Ink and Shabby White Embossing Enamel.
- Next, die cut an oval from clear cardstock (acetate) and adhere to the back of the frame.
- Then adhere 3 layers of 1/8″ foam tape around the inside edge of the frame.
- Now place your shaker elements on the card base over the area where you intend to adhere the frame.
- Position the frame over the shaker mix and press in place.
A Peek Inside
Creating the inside of this folio was such fun! There is a lot of room to add interactive element like this kinetic waterfall feature.
Pull the tab on the bottom of the waterfall and the pages flip.
There’s even a secret message hidden at the bottom!
Tie some ribbon around the top of this little magnet insert to add style and texture.
Flip the magnet pocket page open to reveal another waterfall and a treat pocket.
This Echo Park Amour collection is older, but classic. I love anything with Eiffel Tower images.
Tuck a tea wallet and a chocolate treat in the center pocket. It’s such a lovely way to say “Be My Valentine!”

Your folios are always fabulous with lots of love and detail.
Love your Folio! It is gorgeous. So much detail shows the love you put into making it. Love your choice of ribbon and the die cut. Thanks for the video. Edwina Brown
Love how you added the photo flip on the front inside cover! Great way to extend how you added all the flip pages into one folio!! Love your Valentine work!
I always love your amazing folios but the waterfall element adds to the fun of opening the card and finding the secrets within. The shaker element adds a touch of fun and whimsy and I love the striped buttons in the upper corner. I can’t believe how well the ribbon and roses match each other. I’d love to see a video of the folio with the waterfall or if you’ve already done one, I’d enjoy watching it.

HOLY COW! Amazing how this opens! Love the papers and the vintage look and photos!
Beautiful. Love the vintage images.
The label “Sweet” on the inside is just what this folio is SWEET! And of course you had me at chocolate! (Tea would seal the deal!). Love this one – colors, embellishments are right up my alley. Moreover, I love the flow and color combos! You must get tired of hearing it; but you are a master and I love your creations.
Love it Kathy! Love the use of the paper dolls too. One of my favourites. You are so talented my friend. Hugs from stormy Vancouver Island!
Beautiful details on your gorgeous True Love Folio! I love all the flaps and pockets! Pretty ribbons and embellishments!
How very romantic!! All the details are perfect for a Valentine portfolio. I love the papers you used with that gorgeous red ribbon. And shakers are my fave type of card so I am loving that, too. And the polka dot ribbon; the B&W striped buttons; the metal charm; the fancy frame. I love it all!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS folio. So many beautiful details. Love it!
Another lovely card Kathy. I doubt there’s even one that I would not want to receive and have such a wonderful keepsake. I’ll have to search around your channel to find the tutorial on these. I know I must have one someplace. Guess that once you make one, they’ll be more to follow. I love them, lots & lots. I can’t just make it on my own. I need to follow someone and then I’d tweek it to me. But, all yours are me!! Be safe & TYFS
I love your folio it is so pretty with the gorgeous reds and the ways you have decorated the folio. I had an idea in mind when I saw it and was hoping for a tutorial for constructing the folio. Thanks for all your beautiful creations-I don’t often respond but I enjoy seeing what you have created.
Kathy, what a gorgeous, nostalgic looking folio. Love the sweet image on the front and those lovely roses and shaker elements! Your flip up waterfall is fantastic and adds such a “wow” factor. As always your mix and match of the paper collection and attention to little details is so beautifully spot on. Thank you for sharing this beauty! Hugs!
That Folio is a lot of work. Whom ever receives this artistic presentation is lucky. Great presentation of RRR
Your super duper fun [I see Chocolate] project is stunning Kathy – I love all those elements and the flips and turns and pockets – especially when Chocolate is slipped in – Bravo! Clever – stunning, inspiring! Have a blessed week!
