Red, White and Blue Birthday Card

Red, White and Blue Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!

I have such a fun vintage card to share with you today!  I was recently asked to create a special red, white and blue birthday card for a young lady’s 18th birthday.  The card has to be mailed to the U.K. so I had to keep it a little on the “flat” side, and also be sure it didn’t weigh a ton.  I was slightly stumped by this request, but when I dug into my digital supplies, I found these great Patriotic Americana Vintage Collage Digital Images from Polly’s Paper Etsy.  Problem solved!

Red. White and Blue Birthday Card/Kathy by DesignI think this card is super cute!  I die cut foil stars with my Tim Holtz Crescent Moon and Stars die, The foil papers add some glitz and shimmer…and they are easy to mail because they are flat elements.  The top and bottom papers are separated from a simple strip of blue paper.  This keeps things from being too busy.

It was a real challenge for me not to add elebenty hunnerd layers to a card, and to keep things fairly flat, but I think I managed to pull it off.

If you are hosting a 4th of July party this year, I think the digital images in the Patriotic Americana Download would make a fabulous banner, invitations, table decor or place cards!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

This is fabulous, Kathy! Love the Americana theme and the fact that you made it layered but flat is awesome! You are an amazing designer!

Great card! I know it was hard for you to not layer it up, but the finished card is fun.
