Romantique Garden Sympathy Card Tutorial
Hello, friends! It’s Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, and I have another project using the elegant Romantique Garden Collection of Stamps, Dies and papers to share with you. Sympathy cards might be some of the most difficult cards to create. You want to create something serene and beautiful…not too fussy, but not too plain, either. I created a Romantique Garden Sympathy Card that I think strikes just the right note.
It’s simple, elegant and restful. I topped one of the beautiful card fronts from the paper collection with stamped and die cut bleeding heart blooms. The sentiment is from the Sympathy Pre Cut set. I’ve added a bow made with Old Willow Organza and added some trim from my ribbon scrap bin.
The inside uses another sentiment from the Sympathy PreCut set, and beautiful artwork and papers from the collection.
You’ll find a complete supply list and detailed tutorial below.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Directions:
Create a 5″ x 7″ card base from Ivory cardstock. Use the Cut, Mat, Create large rectangle to evacuate the focal from the 5″ x 7″ card front, as shown. Run the ribbon around the center of the frame and secure to the back. Glue the frame to the card base.
Use foam dots to secure the focal image to the card front, making sure the foam dots are about 1/4″ away from the edge of the image. Use Red Line Tape to secure the fancy trim around the perimeter of the card focal.
Stamp 3 sets of the heartthrob blossoms onto a piece of green designer paper using Forest Moss Distress Ink. Heat Emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Die cut, shape and attach to the focal image with foam dots. Tie a double loop bow from the green ribbon and secure to the side of the card. Top with a fancy button.
For the interior of the card, cut two 4″ x 5″ rectangles from green designer paper. Ink the edges with Forest Moss DI and layer on the interior of the card panel, as shown. Die cut the tag using Luggage and Tags die. Tie a bit of gold thread through the top. Add to the top left side of the panels, as shown. Stamp the sympathy sentiment with Forest Moss DI and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
love the colours such a gorgeous card
Beautiful!
Hi Kathy a comforting card that hopefully gives some peace. The colours are restful and the words offer hope in memories x
Hi Kathy! I hope all your holiday planning is going well! This is really a wonderful sympathy card. I agree with you, I find sympathy cards the hardest to make, even harder than a masculine card, but you have made one with style and grace. It’s not too plain and it’s not too fancy. The colours are attractive but not too bold and the design is elegant and distinctive without being flashy. Well done my friend, it’s perfect! holiday hugs to you and yours 🙂
So gorgeous !! Love it. Hugs Liz xxx
