Rugged Masculine Card Stack Tutorial for Throwback Thursday
Hello, Friends! It’s Throwback Thursday, and I have an Authentique Rugged Masculine Card Stack Tutorial to share with you. Many of you have told me that masculine cards are your biggest challenge. Since you all enjoyed the Prima Autumn Sunset Card Stack Throwback Thursday so much last month, I thought I would follow a similar format today.
Masculine Cards Tips and Tricks
Each top fold card in the stack measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ . The card base is a light beige that goes well with the Rugged color palette. Here are some of my favorite masculine card making tips:
- First, think about the color palette. It’s always a good idea to work with colors that you might find in a men’s suit department.
Keep ribbon and trims simple. Some of these cards use a little ribbon while others do not.
Manly themes like sports and cars are easy choices for masculine cards. Timepieces, travel and vintage images work well, too.
Don’t forget to dig into any stickers that came with a collection. This is a quick and easy way to add layers of interest to a card design.
Amp up the masculine vibe with wood or metal embellishments. You can use chipboard, too, of course. Just finish it with a metallic or faux wood paint or embossing powder.

There is not a supply list for today’s post, as all the products are retired. But I encourage you to dig through your stash of masculine papers and embellishments to see what you already have on hand.

Greetings Kathy; Thank you for posting your Rugged Masculine Card Stack. Like many I have made some masculine cards but never approached it the way you do. Thus I haven’t made that many. So thank you again for your novel ideas. It is very much appreciated.
