Silver and Gold Holiday Frame for Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge
Hello, Friends!
If you’re like me, you are getting serious about holiday preparations. The current challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon is to create a project that uses silver and gold with ribbon or trim. How festive is that? So I put on my thinking cap for a little while and came up with this Christmassy Silver and Gold Holiday frame made with this month’s Ribbon Club Assortment.
Ooooh…sparkly! I picked up this frame at a yard sale this summer, removed the glass, and treated it to some gold paint for a total transformation. How fun will this be on a holiday mantel or side table?
The November Ribbon Club has the most luxurious holiday ribbons! I used my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to tie teeny tiny bows from Crosshatch on Old Gold Satin Ribbon, darling Christmas Ornaments on White Satin Ribbon, and then topped my mini ornaments with them. I suspended the ornaments from the frame using elegant Silver Metallic String.A sheet of DCWV cardstock that I found in my stash sits at the back of the frame.
The top of the frame is maybe my favorite part. This Shell Grey Shimmer Satin Ribbon is perfect for the holidays. I tied a super colossal bow on my Zutter Bow-it-All, then topped it with a loopy bow made from more of that darling ornament ribbon. The icing on the cake is this trio of creamy white magnolia blossoms. Soooo scrumptious!
If you love ribbon the way I love ribbon, now is a great time to join the Monthly Ribbon Club. Bonnie has a super DEAL going on, so you might want to check that out. You could always ask Santa to put a gift subscription to the Ribbon Club under the tree for you this year since you’ve been so very good!
Be sure to check out the RRR BLOG where you’ll find loads of inspiration from the rest of the team. You can link up your own Silver and Gold project with ribbon or trim, and we’ll be stopping by to take a peek at your lovely handiwork.
I’m linking this project to the “It’s Ornamental Challenge” over at the Anything But Cute Challenge Blog.

Hello Kathy! Wow what a cool elegant ornament you have created, its lovely and so striking. Beautiful! Cx (FA for November at Anything but Cute)
Good morning, Kathy! I was doing some commenting at Anything but Cute this morning, and whose entry do I see right off the bat? Why your’s, of course! I had a good chuckle at the yard sale find…well done on the transformation. You have made this into a lovely work of art that should be on display at a fine antiques store. I love that background paper–a perfect setting for those glittery baubles! And your magnolia/bow cluster at the top is a real show stopper! Perfect for the south! Well done! I bet your Christmas tree is beautiful! Heck, your entire home is probably decorated top to bottom in Christmas splendor!

This is gorgeous! Great idea!
This is one stunning piece! I have some larger ornate frames that I have been threatening with a gold treatment…maybe after Christmas!
WOW! This is gorgeous Kathy … what an awesome idea!
Now that’s just the kind of frame a lot of ‘normal’ people would pass by but in the hands of an artist, whoa doggies, look out! It magically becomes a GORGEOUS work of art, fit for the most prestigious place in the home. I LOVE it!
Oh my gosh Kathy, this is a little piece of Christmas heaven!! I love the golds and silvers together, so wonderfully festive. Your treatment of the frame is incredible, it looks like vintage find from some quaint little antique shop! Great baubles, I love the shape of them, so unique! This is such a beautiful decoration, it will grab the eye no matter where it sits! Not sure if the rules allow it, but this would be a perfect entry for our “It’s Ornamental” challenge this month at Anything But Cute. big hugs 🙂
