Simple Stories Cozy Days Greetings with Really Reasonable Ribbon
Hello, Friends! Autumn is almost here, and I’m welcoming it with this Simple Stories Cozy Days Greetings card. It has everything I love: plump pumpkins, fall flowers, plaid papers and poufy bows! Now that’s how to have a cozy day!
Do you love layers as much as I do? I’m always looking for ways to add layers to my card compositions. Creating a layered ribbon border is one of my favorite tricks. The RRR August Ribbon Club Assortment had the perfect ribbons for this festive fall card. Here are some quick and easy ribbon tips.
- Frame your focal point with ribbon borders. On this card, I added a ribbon border above and below the focal point of my card. There’s a lot going on here, but that ribbon border directs traffic beautifully!
- Layer ribbons for double the fun. First, put down a border of Russet Orange Taffeta with 1/2″ Scor-Tape. Then, add the perfect amount of sparkle with Gold Edged Cappuccino Satin Ribbon. It’s such a simple technique, but it makes a huge visual impact.
- Don’t forget the bows! Silky soft Gold Edged Cappuccino Satin ties such pretty bows.
- Add rustic charm with Natural Burlap String. Use it in strands to top your tag, then tie bows to tuck beneath elements. It’s one of my favorite tricks!
A Peek Inside
Add a pocket and gift card wallet inside the card to turn it into a gift.
It’s also very nice to add an Autumn tea bag and blank sentiment panel inside the gift card wallet. Now your card is a gift!
Fall crafting is my favorite. I love the colors, the images and the patterns. Look for more fall goodies coming your way!

Makes me miss all that fall experience while at our cabin in the Shenandoah (Bryce Mountain). Wildlife, especially the deer; spectacular view of the ski slope; those mountain views of trees displaying such a range of beautiful colors; and that crisp mountain air – nothing like it. Born and bred a city girl; but loved those country settings in VA! Thanks for that memory lane trip via your gorgeous make. Always love your embellishments and ribbons!

Such a pretty card, Kathy! I am ready to welcome Autumn with open arms! Simple stories always has such wonderful paper collections and this one is no exception. I love the cutouts you have added and those border ribbons. What a unique and lovely look for this card. The mason jar tag is so cute with that pretty butterfly at the top. As always the inside is a delight with your little tea surprise. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
Your ribbon bows provide nice corners for this lovely Fall inspired card. Love pumpkin images! Summer is refusing to leave in the PAC NW…another 5 days of 90-100 degree days is here. Is Fall ever going to begin?
I can feel the crispness in the air and can feel the crunch of leaves under my feet with this one Kathy. It is almost time for warm cider and warmer clothes, but only in the mornings so far. It’s dark and a lot cooler now. The days are still warm though. Thanks for sharing this one Kathy.
Thanks, Sue! I was having some issues receiving comments via my email, but I think I just got things resolved. Thanks so much for the sweet words. It’s still pretty hot and humid here, but the mornings and evenings are a bit less breathless. Fall is coming! Hugs!
