Simple Stories Fresh Snow Banner Tutorial

Simple Stories Fresh Snow Banner Tutorial with Reneabouquets

Hello, Friends!  Let’s get ready for winter with this Simple Stories Fresh Snow Banner Tutorial.  Our homes are probably all dressed up for Christmas right now (I’m still working on it!) but I always like to have a bit of winter home decor on hand to chase away those post-Christmas blues.  This lovely banner, featuring lots of goodies from Reneabouquets, is just the ticket!

Look at all the cozy images, sparkling snowflakes and wintry hues in this great big banner!  Dusty blues, soft greens and creamy white hues are so pretty together!  A touch of vintage lace, forest green ticking and buttery satin ribbon lend a comforting, cozy feel to the banner design.

Do you like the contrast between the pointed edges of the Eileen Hull Pocket/House Die Pennants and the rounded edges of the G45 square tags?  I know I do!

Sweet Snowmen and Winter Flowers

Here’s a peek at one of the darling Reneabouquets Snowmen that I love so very much.  I’ve paired it up with some heat embossed snowflakes and my favorite pine bough corners.  The flower cluster is a combination of mulberry flowers from Reneabouquets and my handmade flowers.

TIP:  Find great bargains on winter accents in after-Christmas sales.  I purchased a really ugly floral pick, deconstructed it, and added some paint and glitter to make pretty berries and pine boughs on this banner.

Would you like to learn the basics of how I build my banners?  See how I created those fun shaker frames?  Follow along as I build the layers on the individual pennants?  Then please grab a cuppa and a snack and enjoy this banner tutorial over on my YouTube channel.

Displaying a banner in your home makes every day feel like a holiday, doesn’t it?  Even if  you are not a “banner maker” you can use the layering tips I share in this tutorial in your cardmaking or scrapbooking projects.

I’ll be back next week with our Birthday Card of the Month tutorial featuring Graphic 45’s new Season to Celebrate collection.  It’s going to be a lot of fun!
